Abstract

A display system comprising a host apparatus (100) having a video interface circuit (106) and a display unit (200) operable by supplying a video signal and power from the host apparatus (100) and having a communication function for realizing communication of data between the host apparatus (100) and the display unit (200). The display unit (200) sends data on power consumption thereof stored in an EEPROM (203) to the host apparatus (100). The host apparatus (100) processes the received power consumption data to manage the power of the system including the host apparatus (100) and the display unit (200).
