Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de faire la distinction entre un mode EDGE COMPACT et un mode GSM/EDGE CLASSIC dans une émission radiotéléphonique reçue par radiotéléphone. On reçoit une salve de synchronisation (601) dans l'émission et on établit une corrélation (607) entre la salve et un code de séquence de formation étendue (ETS) propre au radiotéléphone. Ce code est soit un code ETS du mode EDGE COMPACT, soit un code ETS du mode GSM/EDGE CLASSIC. Selon le procédé décrit, la réception (615) de la transmission radiotéléphonique se poursuit si la salve de synchronisation est sensiblement en corrélation avec le code ETS. Le code ETS du mode EDGE COMPACT est sensiblement orthogonal par rapport au code ETS du mode GSM/EDGE CLASSIC.
