Zur Bewehrung und Abdichtung sind darüber hinaus das Rohr und die darauf aufgeklebten Kupplungsteile mit Matten und Fäden aus Glasfasern oder Metall bewehrt, was mit einem relativ hohen Fertigungsaufwand einhergeht . Die bekannten Hydraulikrohre sind darüber hinaus deshalb nachteilig, weil durch Biege- oder Knickbeanspruchungen an den Rohrverbindungsstellen Undichtigkeiten zwischen den aufgeklebten Flanschen und den eigentlichen Rohren auftreten können. Längerfristige Biegebeanspruchungen können aufgrund der Wirkung der auftretenden Momente sogar bis zu Beschädigungen der Rohrkupplungen führen. Durch die Qualität moderner Kunststoffe ist es möglich, die Rohre einerseits beständig gegen die aggressiven inneren und äußeren Einflüsse zu schützen und andererseits sicherzustellen, dass deren Anwendung ohne Gefahr elektrostatischer Aufladung möglich ist.
