The system will perform a security check towards the bank and, if this check is successful, the login screen will appear. A menu is displayed with an option for activating cards and only activation card numbers that were supplied with a batch to the bank can be activated.

With this internal account number or identity numbers the global payment system can determine which bank it really is.
  • a further part of the relation management sub system is the merchant management means, in which the merchant related information used for transaction and authorization purposes is stored.
  • An important advantage of the system is the use of the GPS card as a credit card by a client who stays anonymous and can perform secure payment transactions through Internet e.g. around the world.
  • the global payment system In order to perform a transfer of money from the GPS card account at the affiliated bank to a merchant or similar party for services rendered, it is necessary that said merchant has a bank account number in an affiliated bank. Therefore, the global payment system has to know in which affiliated bank a merchant has his bank account number in order to make a transaction. The global payment system will then take care that the money destined for the merchant is transferred from the GPS bank account into the merchant bank account number. For a return transaction, the same routine is used. In this case money is transferred from the merchant bank account into the GPS bank account at the affiliated bank.

Abstract

Cette invention concerne un procédé de paiement mondial (GP) destiné à transférer de l'argent d'un compte bancaire à un autre compte bancaire associé au système de paiement mondial. Un client, ou analogue, achète une carte du système de paiement mondial (GPS) auprès d'une banque afin de disposer d'une certaine somme d'argent de crédit dans une devise quelconque. Un numéro d'activation et un numéro de carte sont attribués par le système de paiement mondial à la carte GPS, et avant l'activation de la carte GPS par la banque, ladite somme d'argent de crédit est transférée sur un compte bancaire GPS. La carte GPS est utilisée par le client au moyen d'un terminal Internet ou d'un terminal GPS, connecté au système de paiement mondial, afin qu'un transfert monétaire sécurisé soit effectué. Outre les numéros d'activation et de carte, un numéro de code PIN sécurisé est attribué à la carte GPS. L'invention concerne également un système de paiement mondial (GPS), permettant de transférer de l'argent d'un compte bancaire à un autre compte bancaire associé au GPS attribué à une carte GPS d'un client, et comprenant un serveur de transactions central servant à répartir des transactions de transferts monétaires, lequel serveur est connecté à un élément d'autorisation de transactions de carte GPS permettant d'activer et de désactiver, au moyen d'un terminal GPS, des cartes GPS achetées auprès de banques associées à ce système, et un serveur de paiement par Internet permettant de gérer des transactions monétaires pour le client par l'intermédiaire d'un terminal GPS ou d'un terminal Internet. L'invention concerne également une carte GPS destinée à être utilisée avec le procédé et le système ci-décrits.
