Abstract

A method of detecting a relation between genes involving the step wherein a partial correlation coefficient is approximately determined with the use of regression analysis in association with selection of variables to thereby eliminate effects of an arbitrary third gene on a first and second genes among a large number of genes. Thus, the relation between the first and second genes can be found out without affected by any other gene. This method is useful in analyzing the expression profile of genes obtained by DNA microarrays.
