- the measures as shown in Fig. 6 proceed in the same way as in Fig. 2 up to point 5, at which a notification is sent to the mobile station MS that informs of the reservation that was made.
- the mobile station MS and the service point SERV perform an exchange of information based on the wireless data transmis- sion.
- the service point SERV retrieves from the mobile station MS the unambiguous piece of identification information connected with the mobile station MS and possibly also other information connected with the reservation made earlier. This information is under- stood to mean, e.g. the reservation number.
- the service point SERV sends the information acquired by it to the reservation server STS.
- the data transmission between the service point SERV and the reservation server STS has been arranged, e.g. by connecting both the reservation server STS and the service point SERV to an Internet data transmission network and by determining a relevant IP address for both of them.
- the reservation server STS pays the reservation and does the check-in by being in communication with the book- ing system GDS and the ticket system of the airline company AS .
- the reservation server STS sends to the mobile station MS a notification informing that the check-in has been accomplished.
- the notification is transmitted, e.g. via the mobile communication network, and it contains preferably the seat number in an aeroplane.
- the mobile station of the client MS and the check point GATE per- form an exchange of information based on the wireless data transmission.
- the check point GATE automatically retrieves from the mobile station MS the piece of information concerning the seat. In this way, the client may be let past the check point GATE into the aero- plane.
- As a part of the check point GATE may also be a printer which is used to print out a boarding card to the client. Fig.
- FIG. 7 is one advantageous example of a flow chart representing the function of the present invention.
- the example as shown in Fig. 7 comprises a terminal device MS, a service provider TA, a reservation server STS, a service point SERV, a booking system GDS and a ticket system of an airline company AS.
- a check point GATE has been separated from the service point SERV to serve as a separate part .
- the terminal device MS is preferably a mobile station and the service provider TA a travel agency.
- the mobile station MS comprises facilities to a data transfer of an induction zone. This is understood to mean, e.g. the establishing of an infrared connection or a Bluetooth connec- tion.
- the service point SERV and the check point GATE comprise facilities to a data transfer of an induction zone. This is understood to mean, e.g. the establishing of an infrared connection or a Bluetooth connection.
- the measures as shown in Fig. 7 proceed in the same way as in Fig. 2 up to point 5, at which a notification is sent to the mobile station MS that informs of the reservation that was made.
- the mobile sta- tion MS and the service point SERV perform an exchange of information based on the wireless data transmission.
- the service point SERV retrieves from the mobile station MS the unambiguous piece of identification information connected with the mobile station MS and possibly also other information connected with the reservation made earlier. This information is understood to mean, e.g. the reservation number.
- the system used in paying the reservation may be arranged, e.g. in such a way that to a certain service point SERV, information may be beforehand transmitted about all the reservations that may be paid through it.
- the service point SERV concludes that the reservation can be unambiguously indicated, pays the reservation and does the check- in by being in communication with the booking system GDS and the ticket system of the airline company AS.
- the service point SERV sends to the mobile station MS a notification informing that the check-in has been accomplished.
- the notification is transmitted, e.g. via the wireless data transfer. This is understood to mean, e.g. an infrared connec- tion or a Bluetooth connection.
- the notification contains, e.g.
- the mobile station of the client MS and the check point GATE perform an exchange of informa- tion based on the wireless data transmission.
- the check point GATE automatically retrieves from the mobile station MS the piece of information about the seat connected with the flight. In this way, the client may be let past the check point GATE into the aeroplane.
- As a part of the check point GATE may also be a printer which is used to print out a boarding card to the client.
