Abstract

A drop window installation (14) for an automotive vehicle (10) in which a body window opening (18) is subdivided by a division bar (22) to enable a molded plastic drop window panel (16) to be of a sufficiently short topwise span that the unreinforced upper edge thereof is of adequate stiffness enough to be used. A front and rear retention features (24A and 24B) are molded integrally along each side of the drop window panel, and each have projecting lip (26) captured in a space in the divider bar and body structure to resist outward movement of the drop window panel.
