A ountable article of clothing.
The present invention relates to a set of components consisting of shaped knitted jersey fabric or some other garment material, which exhibits means of attachment for their interconnection to form articles of clothing. Clothes normally consist of pieces that are already sewn together at the time of purchase. This means that they are attached to form the ready-made garment permanently. It is thus not easily possible to utilize components of finished garments to form other types of garment or other sizes of garment .
The principal object of the present invention is thus, in the first instance, to solve the aforementioned problem by simple yet effectively functioning means.
The aforementioned object is achieved by means of a set in accordance with the present invention, which is characterized essentially in that button holes and/or markings for the introduction of means of attachment are arranged along the edges of the aforementioned components, in that the distance between the aforementioned button holes, etc., is essentially identical for components which are so arranged as to be capable of interconnection edge to edge, in that buttons, which are so arranged as to form the aforementioned means of connection, are so arranged as to be accommodated by the aforementioned button holes, etc., and in that the aforementioned buttons are formed by a holding part and a pressure part, which between them hold together two interconnected edges of a component or components, in conjunction with which the components in the set are capable of detachable attachment to one another to form the intended article of clothing.
The invention is described below as a number of preferred illustrative embodiments, in conjunction with which reference is made to the accompanying drawings, in which different types of component, which are included in the set to form different garments, are illustrated, where:

In accordance with the invention, which comprises a set 1 of preformed components 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ... consisting of shaped knitted jersey fabric or some other garment material, which exhibits means of attachment 7, 8 for the interconnection of the components to form articles of clothing 9; 9.1 ..., the components 2-6 have finished button holes 10 and/or markings for the introduction of the aforementioned means of attachment 7, 8 along all the edges 11, 12, 13, 14 of the components 2-6.
The distance A between the aforementioned button holes, etc., 10 is essentially identical for all the components that are so arranged as to be capable of interconnection edge to edge, i.e. with a first edge overlapping a second edge. There are thus more button holes 10 on a side 11 which is longer than another side 12.
Buttons 7, 8, which are so arranged as to form the aforementioned means of attachment for the components, are so arranged as to be accommodated by the aforementioned button holes 10, in conjunction with which the aforementioned buttons 7, 8 are formed by a holding part 7A, 8A and a pressure part 7B, 8B, which are capable of being introduced through the button hole 10 in question and, between them, of holding together two joined and thus interconnected
components. Depending on the wearer's need and imagination, the aforementioned components 2-6 contained in the set 1, which may consist of more than one similar component, may be capable of detachable attachment to one another to form an intended article of clothing 9, 9.1, etc.
The aforementioned components 2-6 in the set exhibit square form and parallel trapezoid form in different sizes in a number of types, for example rectangular 2, 4, 5, whereas the components of square form 3 are suitably identical. There are also components 6 of parallel trapezoid form which exhibit two inclined sides 11, 13 of identical length, which diverge.
As stated above, the lengths L, L1 ... of the sides 11, 12 of easily detachably attachable components 3, 6 ... in the set, which exhibit mutually different forms, are different in order, for example, to form shoulder parts in conjunction with additional intermediate connection components 5. Eight button holes 10 are thus preferably arranged on a number of sides, whereas nine button holes 10 are arranged on the meeting side of the interconnectable component, or it is also possible for more or fewer button holes 10 to be provided.
As shown in Fig. 8, a detachable separate button 7 is formed by a part 7B, which is provided with a thickened upright 15 projecting axially from the essentially flat, disc-formed component, and a holding part 7A, which can be coloured in any desired shade and/or can have a desired pattern, and which exhibits a centrally located matching accommodating hole 16 for the aforementioned connecting upright 15 provided with a thickened part 17.
At least one of the button parts 7A, 7B consists of an elastically flexible material, such as plastic, rubber or metal. A certain resistance is created in this way, such that the button parts 7A, 7B engage together in a buttoned position I, yet remain easy to open because the material can
be compressed. A partable button 7 of this kind does not cause wear to the button hole 10 in the way in which a conventional sewn-on button causes wear.
In accordance with the example of a button 8 shown in Fig. 9, a number of buttons 8B of an essentially conventional kind are attached to a preferably flexible carrier 8A, for example a band made of textile material, at an identical distance B from one another along the longitudinal extent 18 of the carrier 8A. In the interconnected position, two components 2-6 from the set are accommodated between the carrier 8A and the respective button part 8B .
An attachment band of this kind, where the buttons are buttoned in turn in conjunction with their interconnection, offers highly child-proof properties, because children do not like to place a whole button band in their mouth in the unlikely event of their succeeding in detaching it from the article of clothing to which it is attached. In order also to be able to vary the colour of the garments 9; 9.1 ... that the consumer proposes to assemble at home or elsewhere, identical components 2-6 in the set 1 can exhibit different colours and/or patterns. This is shown in a number of the drawings, where short descriptive words are included for the colour exhibited by the component 2-6.
The aforementioned components 2-6 can also consist of separate materials, for example, as already mentioned above, shaped knitted jersey fabric or plastic, felt, leather or some other non-woven material which exhibits the property of possessing high strength along the edges of the components, and the material lacks the ability of unravelling easily. It is also possible for a border to be so arranged as to extend around the edge of each component, both for the reasons outlined above and for decoration.
The aforementioned components 2-6 in the set can be connected together, both with any other desired component 2-6 and from all directions. This offers considerable opportunities for different combinations. The present invention is essentially intended to provide the opportunity to produce a range of clothing of a flexible kind from five different types of component 2-6 and with different colours. It is thus possible, in a simple manner and by simple means, to button one's garments together depending on the need, and to design them in respect of their colour and form. It is thus possible to change existing buttoned garments 9 ... simply, and more components can be bought for the set 1. This should already have been appreciated by looking at the different examples shown in the drawings.
Thus, Fig. 2 shows a poncho in which the neck opening 20 is formed between two components 2-2, at a point where buttons have not been buttoned together along a central section. In Fig. 13, a simple tabard is formed from two components 3,3, where the neck and arm openings 21, 22 are also formed from unbuttoned sections.
The garments illustrated in Figs. 15 and 16 exhibit a shoulder yoke 23 and shoulder straps 24 made of simple curved buttoned top parts 5 of rectangular basic form.
The leg warmers 9.6, which are illustrated in Fig. 21, are formed by two components 6 with their own opposite edges 14, 14 buttoned together.
Illustrated in Fig. 24 is a garment 9.2, in which a waistband 26 is formed at the top of the garment by causing existing button holes 10 in a line to be buttoned together, i.e. by causing the top edge 14 of two buttoned square pieces 3,3 to be gathered together.
The different components contained in the respective garments 9.3 and 9.4 are clearly illustrated in Figs. 27 and 28.
Illustrated in Fig. 31 is an example of a buttoned wedding dress 9.5, and this example shows the advantage of the invention because a wedding dress is normally used only once by its wearer. It is now easy, after the wedding, to modify the dress 9.5 into other desired garments for everyday use . The invention is not restricted to the examples illustrated above and shown in the drawings, but may be varied within the scope of the Patent Claims without departing from the idea of invention.
