Abstract

L'invention concerne des nouveaux absorbants à base de polysaccharide et un procédé de production d'un polysaccharide modifié insoluble dans l'eau, possédant les propriétés préférées d'absorption stables en vieillissant. Lesdits nouveaux absorbants à base de polysaccharides et le procédé de l'invention permettent la production d'un absorbant à base naturelle et l'obtention des propriétés préférées de vieillissement pour ce qui concerne l'absorbance. Un polysaccharide carboxyalkylique hydrosoluble et à base naturelle est dissous dans de l'eau et est récupéré et traité à chaud pour que soit formé un polysaccharide carboxyalkylique gonflant dans l'eau et insoluble dans l'eau. Le polysaccharide gonflant dans l'eau et insoluble dans l'eau possédant une absorbance initiale préférée sous une valeur de charge est vieilli dans une humidité relative de 60 %. Selon un aspect de l'invention, le mélange aqueux de polysaccharide carboxyalkylique hydrosoluble possède un pH compris entre environ 4,0 et 7,5. Le produit à base naturelle possédant une absorbance préférée sous charge et les caractéristiques préférées, conserve environ au moins 50 % de la valeur d'essai analytique sous charge de l'absorbance initiale après vieillissement.
