Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un projectile (24) pour munitions d'armes de petit calibre, qui consiste à produire plusieurs compacts (40, 40') à partir d'un mélange de poudre de métal lourd et d'une poudre de métal léger, à la température ambiante, et sans traitement supplémentaire des compacts, à introduire ces derniers dans une chemise métallique (52) un par un, chaque compact étant comprimé dans la chemise avec une pression suffisante pour que le remplissage sensiblement complet d'une partie respective de la chemise par chaque compact soit assuré avant l'introduction d'un autre compact dans ladite chemise. Les compacts remplissent moins du volume total de la chemise, une partie étant laissée pour le vide entre les compacts. Avant la compression des derniers compacts introduits dans la chemise, un disque (48) dont le diamètre extérieur est sensiblement égal au diamètre intérieur de ladite chemise à proximité de l'extrémité ouverte (56) de celle-ci, est introduit dans cette dernière. Après la compression du dernier compact introduit et du disque de séparation, la partie de la chemise (62) adjacente à l'extrémité ouverte est repliée vers l'intérieur en direction de la ligne centrale longitudinale (64) de la chemise, de sorte que l'extrémité ouverte (56) soit sensiblement fermée. Un seul projectile (24) et une munition (10) formée à partir dudit projectile sont décrits.
