Abstract
The invention relates to a device for balancing a shaft (1) by removing material while said shaft (1) rotates. The inventive device comprises a laser source (2) for impinging upon the shaft (1) with a laser beam (3, 4, 5) and a control and regulating device (6) for activating the laser source (2) for emitting the laser beam (3, 4, 5) for removing material on the shaft (1). The invention also relates to a method for balancing a shaft by removing material while said shaft rotates. The position of at least one balancing point on the shaft is detected and a laser source is correspondingly activated for impinging upon the rotating shaft for removing material on the detected balancing point.
