Abstract
The present invention relates to a P/C mouse and particularly to the P/C mouse both for its function and for a telephone set, in which a telephone set circuit board (20) is equipped with a mouse body (22), at the lower portion of a mouse button (10, 12) an on-hook button (24) and a dialing button (28) are mounted, and a microphone for transmission (30) and a speaker for reception (32) are mounted to the lower and upper portions of the mouse body (22), in order to use the mouse as the telephone set. The P/C mouse both for its function and for a telephone set according to the present invention enables to operate the P/C and at the same time to hold a conversation by telephone, and thus applies to the general business using the P/C, the field of communication sale, telephone number information service and the field of command communication of the police of an army.
Description
P/C MOUSE BOTH FOR ITS FUNCTION AND FOR A TELEPHONE SET
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a mouse which is an auxiliary input device of a personal computer (P/C) and more particularly to the P/C mouse both for its function and for a telephone set, through which users can speak by telephone even when the P/C is being used.
BACKGROUND ART
The conventional P/C mouse could serve to input operation only by clicking a mouse button, and in order to speak by telephone in the course of the P/C operation, a telephone set should have been erected in the peripheral of the P/C.
Namely, in case of the P/C communication using MODEM erected in a communication network and the P/C, it was possible to transfer and receive pictorial or character data, but impossible to hold a conversation with the other party being communicated. Accordingly, in order to hold a conversation, the separate telephone set for use in the conversation should have been erected.
Further, in case of holding a conversation by telephone in the course of the P/C operation using the mouse, there were troublesome problems in stopping the P/C operation and using the telephone set. DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to improve
the efficiency of office work and effectively use the office space by providing a P/C mouse both for its function and for a telephone set, in which the mouse can be conveniently used as the telephone set even when the P/C is being operated.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a P/C mouse both for its function and for a telephone set according to the present invention. Fig. 2 is a block diagram of a P/C mouse both for its function and for a telephone set according to the present invention.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
As shown in Fig.l and Fig. 2, the present invention comprises a mouse button 10, 12, a mouse connection cord
16 having a mouse jack 14 at one end, a mouse circuit board 18, a mouse ball not shown, etc., in which a telephone set circuit board 20 is equipped with a mouse body 22, at the lower portion of the mouse button 10, 12 an on-hook button 24, a speakerphone button 26, a dialing button 28 and a microphone for transmission 30 are mounted, and between the mouse button 10 and the mouse button 12 a speaker for reception 32 is mounted.
In this construction, the position of the microphone for transmission 30 can be changed with that of the speaker for reception 32.
A telephone line connection cord 34 connected with a telephone set circuit board 20 is equipped with the
mouse connection cord 16. The telephone line connection cord 34 is a single cord integral to the mouse connection cord 16, one end 34a of the telephone line connection cord 34 is outwardly separated from the mouse jack 14, and a modular jack for the telephone set 36 is fixed to the one end 34a of the telephone line connection cord 34 outwardly separated from the mouse jack 14.
At one side of the mouse body 22 an earphone jack 42 being connected with an earphone plug 40 is mounted so that an output signal being conveyed to the speaker 32 from the telephone set circuit board 20 can be heard even through the earphone 38.
In the present invention, in order to effectively prevent the mouse from being unintendedly pressed while clicking the mouse button 10, 12 to operate the P/C with the mouse, it is desirable that the on-hook button 24 and the speakerphone button 26 should be mounted at a mouse upper wall 44 having the lower height than the surface of the mouse button 10, 12, as described in Fig. 1. Also, in order to effectively prevent the mouse from being unintendedly pressed by the palm of the hand while operating the P/C with the mouse, it is desirable that the dialing button 28 should be mounted inside a concave 46 engraved deeper than the mouse upper wall 44, and should not be projected outside the concave 46.
The P/C mouse both for its function and for a telephone set according to the present invention having
such construction has an advantage that the mouse displays its essential function without trouble and at the same time can serve to the telephone set if necessary. Namely, when making or answering a phone call in such a state that the mouse is not being used, it is possible to manipulate the on-hook button 24 and thus hold a conversation by touching the mouse body 22 to the user's ear and mouth. Further, when marking or answering a phone call in such a state that the mouse is being used, a dial tone can be heard and a voice of the other party can be identified through the speaker 32 without touching the mouse body to the ear or mouth by manipulating the speakerphone button 26. Thus it is possible to hold a conversation even when the mouse is being used.
In case of noisy surroundings or if only the user wants to hear the voice of the other party being communicated, it is possible to hear the voice of the other party and at the same time hold a conversation by using the earphone 38.
Industrial Applicability A P/C mouse both for its function and for a telephone set according to the present invention has a mouse body enabling to use as the telephone set and thus provides a smooth P/C communication without having a separate telephone set. The P/C mouse according to the present invention enables to operate the P/C and at the
same time to hold a conversation by telephone. Accordingly, the present invention applies to the general business using the P/C and telephone set, the field of communication sale using the P/C communication network or telephone communication network, telephone number information service, the field of command communication of the police or an army, etc, for the purpose of effectively performing the work in the above mentioned various fields.
