Abstract

Procedure and system for confirming a transaction in a telecommunication system comprising a telephone network (7), a first telecommunication terminal (1) and a second telecommunication terminal (2), said telecommunication terminals being connected to the telephone network, and an automatic telephone service system (ATSS) connected to the telephone network. According to the invention, a secret code is sent to the customer, who can use it to confirm a purchase transaction in conjunction with direct sales. The invention allows a safe implementation of a complete bargain including direct debiting during a single call. In addition, the transmission and confirmation of the payment transaction take place without the customer delivering an actual account number to the dealer.
