Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte au codage d'un matériau en bande devant être traité ultérieurement. A cet effet, un code d'identification invisible relatif à ce matériau est appliqué au moins sur une face de ce matériau en bande. Ce code peut contenir des données essentielles pour permettre un traitement ultérieur du matériau en bande. Le code proposé par cette invention s'étend d'un bord à l'autre de la bande, comme une règle, sous la forme d'un code continu. Dans le procédé proposé par cette invention, le marquage se produit au moment du processus de fabrication du matériau en bande, de sorte qu'on puisse utiliser par exemple un cylindre similaire à un rouleau d'impression ou ressemblant à un rouleau suiveur, ou alors le marquage est effectué au moyen d'une procédure du type à jet.
