Abstract

The present invention relates to a joint prosthesis system (50) that comprises a prosthesis rod (40), a ball joint (30), a cup-like adapter (20) which can be inserted between the rod and the ball joint and which comprises an opening (21) at the bottom (22), as well as a rod-shaped instrument for detaching the adapter from the neck of the prosthesis rod or from the reception cap of the ball joint. This instrument (1) includes a rod that comprises two parts (3, 5) and which is fitted with a first and a second means (9, 12) at its summit so that, during the relative displacement of the rod members, a tensile-strength or axial-compression component can be generated for gripping the inner or outer side (22.1, 22.2) of the bottom of the adapter and for detaching said adapter (20).
