Abstract

The invention relates to a device for evaporating an active substance, especially an insecticide. Said device comprises a support element which can preferably be detached from a housing and comprises a heating device which can be electrically heated, which acts upon the support element, and which is provided for inducing a release of the insecticide. The support element is constructed in the shape of a plate and is comprised of a plastic material in which insecticide is introduced. In addition, the support element comprises a surface which is structured such that it can be seen with the naked eye. Said surface is configured in such a way that a surface is produced which exhibits an increased efficacy compared to a planar surface and which is provided for releasing the insecticide from the plastic material for a period lasting for a number of hours when heated by the heating device.
