Definitions
- the invention relates to a building block system, in particular for game building blocks, with a plurality of building blocks which can be connected to one another, wherein each building block has an undercut groove-shaped groove on at least one side surface into which at least one cylindrical connecting strip can be inserted.
- Modules are known in many variations and designs. Such building blocks with different geometric shapes are often connected to one another by means of multifaceted connecting elements and assembled to form structural units.
- game building blocks are also known, which are generally put together in large numbers to form game building block systems or game building block boxes, so that a user can combine the game building blocks into any shapes and forms.
- the building blocks usually consist of plastic or frequently also of metal, wood, stone or the like. Especially when the construction stones made of plastic, these can be brought into almost any shape.
- DE-AS-14 78 380 describes a rectangular toy with a square cross-section, which has a longitudinally extending connecting groove on each side face and an undercut on one end face, and is provided on the other end face with a hermetically cut strip-like connecting pin.
- the hermtercut grooves are designed as tubular, widened slots into which the connecting pin of another play module can be inserted for final closure.
- the connecting pin of the one toy construction element must be pressed into the connecting groove of the other toy building element with a high expenditure of force, since the edge cutting edges on the connecting groove must be slightly widened, since the distance between the hammer-cut edges of the connecting groove is less than the width of the connecting pin.
- the connecting pin or the shoulder cutting edges of the connecting groove are pressed together and deformed. As a result, repeated use of the connecting elements is limited. If the distance between the opposing undercut edges of the connecting groove is increased, the connection as a whole becomes unstable.
- the connecting pin of one Eisenbaustems can be inserted from the open end of the hermtercut groove of the other Spielbaustems. However, the insertion of the connecting pin m requires a certain dexterity.
- a similar prismatic play structure is known from DE-GM-72 03 983, but in which the connection is formed on two Spielbaustem by two parallel juxtaposed spring tongues, which is pressed or inserted with part of their height in the tubular groove of the other Spielbaustems.
- These spring tongues have a rectangular cross-sectional shape, so that only the edges of the spring tongues are supported on the tubular groove, since the shape of the spring tongues only abut two point-shaped contact lines in the tubular groove.
- the surface pressure at the contact lines is therefore large, so that, depending on the frequency of play, surface abrasion occurs and the connection is initially difficult and later smooth.
- the thin spring tongues protrude unprotected from the play structure and thus can be easily damaged, bent or broken off while playing, so that the connection function is no longer provided.
- the undercut groove-shaped groove consists of two opposing clamp-like gripping walls for receiving the cylindrical connecting people, which form an essentially tulip shape and are designed to be resilient.
- tulip shape is to be understood to mean the cross section of the tapered groove, which is essentially circular in shape, the two opposite clamp-like extend towards the gripping walls beyond the nominal diameter of the circular cross-section and leave an opening open at the top. Since the nominal diameter of the groove-shaped groove is therefore not completely enclosed by the two gripping walls, a groove with a tulip-shaped cross section results to a certain extent. As a result, the gripping walls are also resilient.
- the cylinder-shaped connecting person lies with her cylinder surface on the resilient contact surfaces of the clamp-like gripping walls of the channel-shaped groove when assembling two building blocks. This results in a small surface pressure between the gripping walls of the groove and the connecting people and little wear when plugging and loosening the connection. Due to the large contact surfaces between the clamp-like gripping walls of the groove-shaped groove and the corresponding cylindrical connecting people, despite the low surface pressure, there are sufficiently large holding forces between the assembled building blocks. Another advantage is that the modular system according to the invention allows easy assembly of modules both in the axial and in the radial direction between the groove and the connecting strip. The connection is very stable due to the closed cylinder shape of the connecting people and the side surfaces of the building blocks.
- the undercut groove-shaped groove is preferably arranged in a recess formed in the side surface of the module, the free ends of the clip-like gripping walls of the groove being essentially flush with the side surface of the module.
- the groove-shaped groove formed from the clamp-like gripping walls is thus protected against external damage in the module.
- the resilient clamp-like gripping walls are allowed to move sufficiently in the radial direction with respect to its longitudinal axis when the cylindrical connector strip is inserted.
- the undercut groove-shaped groove is formed in one piece with the recess formed in the side surface of the module. This combination of the groove with the recess is particularly easy to implement in the case of plastic profile strips or plastic building blocks due to the good formability properties of the plastic.
- the undercut groove-shaped groove can run completely or partially along the side surface of the building block. If the channel-shaped groove runs, for example, only along half the height or width of the building blocks, they can be inserted or pushed into one another in opposite directions, the connecting strip of one module being inserted into the corresponding channel-shaped groove of the other building block.
- the recess formed on the side surface of the module is provided with two mutually directed stops to limit the spring travel of the clip-like gripping walls of the groove. This limits the deflection of the gripping walls when the connecting bar is inserted.
- the tulip shape of the hermtercut trough-shaped groove results in particular from the fact that it is connected by means of an integrated web to the recess formed in the side face of the module. This measure gives the channel-shaped groove another possibility of suspension through the web.
- the gripping walls of the inner cut-shaped groove are partially thickened.
- the undercut groove-shaped groove is designed as a separate extruded profile strip and becomes m one Corresponding recess inserted in the at least one side surface of the module or placed on a side surface of the module.
- a recess can be milled into a wooden block, for example, into which the extruded profile strip having the groove-shaped groove is simply pressed into this recess with a press fit.
- a cylinder-shaped connecting strip is formed on at least one side surface of the module.
- several or all of the side surfaces of the module can also be provided with a cylindrical connecting strip, which can be pressed or pushed into corresponding groove-shaped grooves in other modules.
- the cylindrical connector strip can be wholly or partially run along the side of the block.
- the cylindrical connecting people on the building blocks can be omitted and the channel-shaped groove can be formed for this.
- the cylindrical connector strip as a separate component.
- it preferably has a double-cylindrical shape in cross section. If two adjacent building blocks are thus placed next to one another in such a way that their groove-shaped grooves lie opposite one another, the double-cylindrical connecting strip can simultaneously be inserted in a simple manner into the groove-shaped grooves.
- the connecting bar can preferably be tubular. This is particularly useful when the connecting bar has a large nominal diameter.
- the connecting bar can be provided with a slot along its length, so that the connecting bar also has resilient properties.
- the connecting strip which is designed as a separate component, is provided in one piece with a base part which can be inserted into a corresponding recess in the side face of the block. So can a depression on the side surface of the module are attached, in which the separate connection strip is pressed with its base part with a press fit.
- the corner regions of the building blocks each have an undercut groove-shaped groove directed towards the inside, which can be used with a connecting strip.
- the building blocks in the corner areas can be connected to one another, the double-cylinder-shaped connection people preferably being inserted into the groove-shaped grooves in the corner area of one building block and then the other building block correspondingly being plugged on.
- connection strip two or more cylinder-shaped connecting people are integrally connected to one another. Accordingly, two or more cylinder-shaped connecting strips can form a connecting component which is cruciform, star-shaped, triangular or rectangular. This results in a wide range of possibilities for connecting a large number of building blocks to static objects of any kind.
- the tapered grooves and cylindrical connecting strips formed on the outer side flats are available for further applications.
- the undercut groove-shaped groove can be provided for receiving a flexible sealing professional. hen. Thus, only the sealing profile or this can be inserted into the groove-shaped groove together with the connecting strip.
- the building block system according to the invention is preferably suitable for play building blocks, in particular for children.
- the modular system can also be used in furniture construction, trade fair construction, shop fitting and steel construction, as well as in interior construction and for windows, doors, switch housings, etc., without this additional payment being restrictive.
- all possible static objects can be formed by this block system.

Description
Bausteinsystem, insbesondere für Spielbausteine Building block system, especially for game building blocks
Beschreibungdescription
The invention relates to a building block system, in particular for game building blocks, with a plurality of building blocks which can be connected to one another, wherein each building block has an undercut groove-shaped groove on at least one side surface into which at least one cylindrical connecting strip can be inserted.
There are building blocks for the construction of static objects that are simply placed on top of each other or lined up without any connection options. However, the static objects built with these building blocks lack any cohesion, so that they can collapse in the event of vibrations.
Modules are known in many variations and designs. Such building blocks with different geometric shapes are often connected to one another by means of multifaceted connecting elements and assembled to form structural units. In addition, game building blocks are also known, which are generally put together in large numbers to form game building block systems or game building block boxes, so that a user can combine the game building blocks into any shapes and forms. The building blocks usually consist of plastic or frequently also of metal, wood, stone or the like. Especially when the construction stones made of plastic, these can be brought into almost any shape.
Allerdings erfordert das Einschieben des Verbindungszapfens m die Nut eine gewisse Fingerfertigkeit.DE-AS-14 78 380 describes a rectangular toy with a square cross-section, which has a longitudinally extending connecting groove on each side face and an undercut on one end face, and is provided on the other end face with a hermetically cut strip-like connecting pin. The hermtercut grooves are designed as tubular, widened slots into which the connecting pin of another play module can be inserted for final closure. In this case, the connecting pin of the one toy construction element must be pressed into the connecting groove of the other toy building element with a high expenditure of force, since the edge cutting edges on the connecting groove must be slightly widened, since the distance between the hammer-cut edges of the connecting groove is less than the width of the connecting pin. In this case, especially in the case of plastic building blocks, the connecting pin or the shoulder cutting edges of the connecting groove are pressed together and deformed. As a result, repeated use of the connecting elements is limited. If the distance between the opposing undercut edges of the connecting groove is increased, the connection as a whole becomes unstable. In addition, the connecting pin of one Spielbaustems can be inserted from the open end of the hermtercut groove of the other Spielbaustems. However, the insertion of the connecting pin m requires a certain dexterity.
Furthermore, a similar prismatic play structure is known from DE-GM-72 03 983, but in which the connection is formed on two Spielbaustem by two parallel juxtaposed spring tongues, which is pressed or inserted with part of their height in the tubular groove of the other Spielbaustems. These spring tongues have a rectangular cross-sectional shape, so that only the edges of the spring tongues are supported on the tubular groove, since the shape of the spring tongues only abut two point-shaped contact lines in the tubular groove. The surface pressure at the contact lines is therefore large, so that, depending on the frequency of play, surface abrasion occurs and the connection is initially difficult and later smooth. In addition, it is particularly disadvantageous that the thin spring tongues protrude unprotected from the play structure and thus can be easily damaged, bent or broken off while playing, so that the connection function is no longer provided.
It is an object of the invention to provide a module system of the type mentioned at the outset which is versatile and easy to handle and which permits a large number of connection options for two or more modules.
Dadurch sind die Greifwande auch federnd ausgebildet .According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the undercut groove-shaped groove consists of two opposing clamp-like gripping walls for receiving the cylindrical connecting people, which form an essentially tulip shape and are designed to be resilient. For the purposes of the invention, tulip shape is to be understood to mean the cross section of the tapered groove, which is essentially circular in shape, the two opposite clamp-like extend towards the gripping walls beyond the nominal diameter of the circular cross-section and leave an opening open at the top. Since the nominal diameter of the groove-shaped groove is therefore not completely enclosed by the two gripping walls, a groove with a tulip-shaped cross section results to a certain extent. As a result, the gripping walls are also resilient.
The cylinder-shaped connecting person lies with her cylinder surface on the resilient contact surfaces of the clamp-like gripping walls of the channel-shaped groove when assembling two building blocks.
The undercut groove-shaped groove is preferably arranged in a recess formed in the side surface of the module, the free ends of the clip-like gripping walls of the groove being essentially flush with the side surface of the module. The groove-shaped groove formed from the clamp-like gripping walls is thus protected against external damage in the module. In addition, the resilient clamp-like gripping walls are allowed to move sufficiently in the radial direction with respect to its longitudinal axis when the cylindrical connector strip is inserted.
According to a preferred embodiment, the undercut groove-shaped groove is formed in one piece with the recess formed in the side surface of the module. This combination of the groove with the recess is particularly easy to implement in the case of plastic profile strips or plastic building blocks due to the good formability properties of the plastic.
Depending on the intended use of the building block system, depending on the static object to be formed, the undercut groove-shaped groove can run completely or partially along the side surface of the building block. If the channel-shaped groove runs, for example, only along half the height or width of the building blocks, they can be inserted or pushed into one another in opposite directions, the connecting strip of one module being inserted into the corresponding channel-shaped groove of the other building block.
In order to avoid a violent overstretching of the clip-like gripping walls of the groove-shaped groove, the recess formed on the side surface of the module is provided with two mutually directed stops to limit the spring travel of the clip-like gripping walls of the groove. This limits the deflection of the gripping walls when the connecting bar is inserted. The tulip shape of the hermtercut trough-shaped groove results in particular from the fact that it is connected by means of an integrated web to the recess formed in the side face of the module. This measure gives the channel-shaped groove another possibility of suspension through the web.
In order to increase the stability and the clamping effect of the gripping walls, the gripping walls of the inner cut-shaped groove are partially thickened.
Especially for building blocks, which consist of a material that can only be provided with great effort or not at all with fine and complicated profiles, such as wood, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the undercut groove-shaped groove is designed as a separate extruded profile strip and becomes m one Corresponding recess inserted in the at least one side surface of the module or placed on a side surface of the module. Thus, a recess can be milled into a wooden block, for example, into which the extruded profile strip having the groove-shaped groove is simply pressed into this recess with a press fit.
In one embodiment of the invention, a cylinder-shaped connecting strip is formed on at least one side surface of the module. Of course, several or all of the side surfaces of the module can also be provided with a cylindrical connecting strip, which can be pressed or pushed into corresponding groove-shaped grooves in other modules. Alternatively, the cylindrical connector strip can be wholly or partially run along the side of the block. In this variant of the building block system, the cylindrical connecting people on the building blocks can be omitted and the channel-shaped groove can be formed for this. When joining two building blocks, the cylindrical connection strip is inserted into the groove running over the two building blocks.
Furthermore, there is the advantageous possibility of designing the cylindrical connector strip as a separate component. In order to further increase the possible uses of the connector strip, it preferably has a double-cylindrical shape in cross section. If two adjacent building blocks are thus placed next to one another in such a way that their groove-shaped grooves lie opposite one another, the double-cylindrical connecting strip can simultaneously be inserted in a simple manner into the groove-shaped grooves.
To increase the stability of the connecting bar and for the purpose of saving material, the connecting bar can preferably be tubular. This is particularly useful when the connecting bar has a large nominal diameter. In addition, the connecting bar can be provided with a slot along its length, so that the connecting bar also has resilient properties.
In the case of building blocks, for example made of wood, on which the formation of a cylindrical connecting strip is difficult for technological reasons, the connecting strip, which is designed as a separate component, is provided in one piece with a base part which can be inserted into a corresponding recess in the side face of the block. So can a depression on the side surface of the module are attached, in which the separate connection strip is pressed with its base part with a press fit.
According to another development of the building block system, the corner regions of the building blocks each have an undercut groove-shaped groove directed towards the inside, which can be used with a connecting strip. As a result, instead of or in addition to the groove-shaped grooves and cylindrical connection people, the building blocks in the corner areas can be connected to one another, the double-cylinder-shaped connection people preferably being inserted into the groove-shaped grooves in the corner area of one building block and then the other building block correspondingly being plugged on.
To increase the versatility of the use of the connection strip, two or more cylinder-shaped connecting people are integrally connected to one another. Accordingly, two or more cylinder-shaped connecting strips can form a connecting component which is cruciform, star-shaped, triangular or rectangular. This results in a wide range of possibilities for connecting a large number of building blocks to static objects of any kind. In addition, the tapered grooves and cylindrical connecting strips formed on the outer side flats are available for further applications.
For many applications, it may be necessary to protect the connection between two components against moisture, wetness, dirt or the like. Therefore, according to a further development of the invention, the undercut groove-shaped groove can be provided for receiving a flexible sealing professional. hen. Thus, only the sealing profile or this can be inserted into the groove-shaped groove together with the connecting strip.
The building block system according to the invention is preferably suitable for play building blocks, in particular for children. Furthermore, the modular system can also be used in furniture construction, trade fair construction, shop fitting and steel construction, as well as in interior construction and for windows, doors, switch housings, etc., without this additional payment being restrictive. In principle, all possible static objects can be formed by this block system.
It goes without saying that the features mentioned above and still to be explained below can be used not only in the combination indicated in each case, but also in other combinations or in general terms, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

The block system is described below, in particular on cuboid components.
Such a module 1 is shown in FIG. 1. This has on its upper side surface 2 an undercut groove-shaped groove 3 which is integrally connected to a recess 4 integrated into the side surface 2. In the groove-shaped groove 3, a connection strip 5 with a double-cylindrical cross section is inserted, which is symbolized by a broken line. On the right side surface 2 of the module 1, a connecting bar 6 with a cylindrical-orange cross section is formed, which has a solid solid. The left and the lower side surface 2 of the module 1 each have a rigid groove-shaped groove 7 in the center, into each of which a cylinder-shaped connecting strip 6 can be inserted. In the corner areas 8 further grooves 9 are formed, which are formed by two clamp-like gripping walls 10 and are directed towards each other. The free ends of the gripping walls 10 form an opening for receiving a cylindrical part of a double-cylindrical connecting strip 5.
Die rinnenformige Nut 3 besteht aus zwei federnden tulpenformigen und klammerartigen O 99/36148A particularly advantageous undercut groove-shaped groove 3 is shown in an enlarged partial view of the module 1 in FIG. 2. Gripping walls 11, which largely enclose a nominal diameter d and whose free ends form an opening for receiving a cylinder-shaped or double-cylinder-shaped connecting strip 5 or 6. At the intersection of the clamp-like gripping walls 11, these merge into a thin web 11, which in turn is integrally connected to the recess 4. On the upper edges of the recess 4 there is a stop 13, which prevents the clamp-like gripping walls 11 from being overstretched when a connecting strip 5 or 6 is inserted. When the gripping walls 11 are widened when the connecting bar 5 or 6 is inserted, the outer sides of the gripping walls 11 may abut against the stops 13. The stops 13 can be rounded as well as square or pointed.

Another embodiment of the internally cut internal groove 3 is shown in FIG. 5. Here go the clamp-like gripping walls 11 directly m the recess 4 without em web is arranged in between. According to another embodiment of the hem-cut, internal groove 3 according to FIG. 6, the clamp-like gripping walls 11 are each provided with a thickening 16 in order to prevent the clamp-like gripping walls 11 from breaking off when a connecting strip 5 or 6 is inserted. If necessary, stops for limiting the spring travel of the gripping walls 11 can be dispensed with here.
Dagegen zeigt Fig. 8 eine Verbmdungsleiste 6, die als massiver Hohlkörper ausgebildet ist.FIG. 7 shows another embodiment of the cylindrical connecting strip 6 according to FIG. 3, the connecting strip 6 not being tubular, but rather being provided with a slot 15 extending far into it. This provides a springing of the connecting strip 6. In contrast, FIG. 8 shows a connecting strip 6, which is designed as a solid hollow body.
A double-cylinder-shaped connecting strip 5 is shown in FIG. 9 and is intended to be inserted into either the rigid grooves 7 or the hermter-cut groove-shaped grooves 3, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 11.
The perspective representations of two building blocks 1 and 17 to be connected is shown in detail in FIGS. 10 to 12. These two modules 1 and 17 are configured in the same way in the exemplary embodiment. In two diametrically opposed corner areas 8, a double-cylinder-shaped connecting strip 5 is inserted in such a manner as a corresponding groove, as was explained in relation to FIG. 1. The connecting strips 5 each have a length that is approximately the width of the two to be connected Blocks 1 and 17 corresponds. When plugging the module 17 onto the module 1 according to FIG. 11, the double-cylindrical connecting strips 5 engage in the corresponding grooves 9 in the corner regions 8 of the module 17 em. These are then combined, as shown in Fig. 12. Further modules 1 and 17 can be fastened in the grooves 3 and 9 formed in the side surfaces 2 of the modules 1 and 17, as well as on the cylindrical connecting strips 6 formed on the side surfaces 2 of the modules 1 and 17.

A typical block 1 is shown in a perspective view in FIG. 13 and corresponds to block 1 according to FIG. 1. The block 1 according to FIG. 14 has on its one side surface 2 a double-cylindrical connecting strip 5 which is inserted into the undercut groove-shaped groove 3 is. However, the connecting bar 5 has a length that corresponds to only half the height of the module 1. As a result, such a further module 1 with a connecting strip 5 or 6 can be inserted on one side surface 2 into the undercut groove-shaped groove 3, so that the connecting strips 5 or 6 abut against one another.
