Abstract

The modules can also transfer their operating system to another memory, which allows each module to update the operating system stored in its non-volatile memory without interrupting the execution of its operating time code. The modules can be used as part of a system and method for creating circuit connections in a telecommunications switching platform that uses tables of logical identifiers for supported resource and information channels loaded by the platform so as to allow dynamic addressing of components and to provide significant flexibility in reconfiguring the platform.
