Abstract
Description
Verfahren zur Erhöhung der Datenrate bei Gewährleistung des EchtzeitmodusProcedure for increasing the data rate while ensuring real-time mode
Beschreibung:Description:
The method according to the invention is aimed at the transmission of data deliveries in real-time mode when accessing data services from service providers.
In online systems and on the Internet one speaks of download when loading content (data, whether in real time or with a time delay). This means that the user / customer downloads the data he needs into his data sink. The communication / data delivery between user / customer and server takes place on the same data transmission path on which the connection was established. Such data connections are based on the principle of information provider (IP) -based communication, in which the division of the available data rate is dependent on the number of customers / users who simultaneously access the server system. All users / customers share the communication path to the server, so that the bit rate during transmission with simultaneous access to the maximum possible number of participants is only guaranteed if all customers / users are limited to a low bit rate.
Fig. La shows the data transfer from and to the user / customer, as is customary in the known prior art. For example, a maximum bit rate of 1.92 Mbit / s and a user / customer-related data transfer rate of 1 Kbit / s results in a corresponding division of 1.92 Mbit / s divided by the number of virtual user channels. So every user / customer has a temporary bit rate available.
However, if several users / customers can have data delivered online at the same time, they need a higher bit rate for data throughput than for the research process. As a result, the possible number of users / customers who still have access to the data service of the service provider decreases, the more users / customers decrease at the same time Have data delivered online. A real-time transmission of the desired data is then no longer possible, since the bit rate required for this cannot be made available. The user / customer has to wait until the required bit rate can be made available again by the system.
Fig. 1 b zeigt ein derartiges Beispiel. Fig. 1 b shows such an example. With a data rate of, for example, 112 kbit / s for two user customers, it becomes clear that the remaining bit rate is to be divided by the number of bit rates required by the user / customer. However, since these bit rates cannot be permanently assigned, the data stream of e.g. B. 112 kbit / s can not be transferred continuously. There is a discontinuous data transmission, so that a real-time application in the necessary quality and bit rate can no longer be guaranteed.
One possibility, for example, in online systems, online systems with Internet access or on the Internet is the above. Avoiding problems is to provide the system with oversized bit rates. This option is not always feasible for cost reasons.
No distribution systems are known which make it possible to transmit larger amounts of data from the data service to the user / customer in real time, and in which the data stream can be used continuously.
The method according to the invention is aimed at a method which guarantees the bit rates that are necessary for the delivery of data in real-time mode for each individual user / customer even if a maximum number of users / customers access the data network.
As usual, the user / customer dials in to the desired service of the service provider via his ISDN data terminal via his access platform. The connection is established via the first control data transmission path, ISDN user channel B1. According to the state of the art, the user / customer previously had to handle his data transfer for orders also via the already existing connection and thus via the ISDN user channel B1. This option remains as before, but is limited to data deliveries of a limited scope.
The solution according to the invention is based on providing at least one additional ISDN connection for the delivery of data to the customer, which is connected between the AVS server system and the user / customer. This means that the user / customer can still handle small-scale data deliveries using the usual procedure via the existing rule connection via the ISDN user channel B1 with a low network load. If necessary, which is particularly the case when a large number of users / customers are simultaneously accessing and downloading larger amounts of data, every user / customer already on the network can access an additional ISDN data connection for the delivery of data online . This connection, which is switched between the user / customer and the AVS server system, is referred to below as ISDN bypass. The connection establishment for the ISDN bypass is triggered by the user / customer, for example, through an order process. In contrast to the previously known procedures, the connection is established backwards from the AVS server system to the user / customer. Triggered by the ordering process, the user / customer is selected by the AVS server system. The second ISDN user channel B2 of the user / customer available in the context of the ISDN is used to establish the connection.
The method according to the invention gives the user / customer the possibility of individually increasing the data rate from, for example, 64 kbit / s to 128 kbit / s.
The method according to the invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment.
Fig. 2 zeigt das Wirkprinzip des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens anhand eines Blockschaltbildes in dem der Weg der Onlinelieferung von Daten über den ISDN-Bypass dar- gestellt ist.2 shows the principle of operation of the method according to the invention on the basis of a block diagram in which the way of the online delivery of data via the ISDN bypass is shown. is posed.
Fig. 3 a zeigt das Prinzip des Datentransfers unter Inanspruchnahme des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens bei Bereitstellung eines ISDN-Nutzkanals für die Datenlieferung zum User/Kunden Fig.3 b zeigt das Prinzip des Datentransfers unter Inanspruchnahme des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens bei der Bereitstellung von zwei ISDN-Nutzkanälen für die Datenlieferung zum User Kunden.3 a shows the principle of data transfer using the method according to the invention when providing an ISDN user channel for data delivery to the user / customer. FIG. 3 b shows the principle of data transfer using the method according to the invention when two ISDN user channels are provided for the data delivery to the user customer.
Über den ER oder POP erhält der User/Kunde entsprechende Kaufangebote aus dem Angebot des von ihm angewählten Diensteanbieters (Fig. 2).As usual, the user / customer dials into his access platform via his provider / provider and, after appropriate selection, arrives at the external computer ER (here T-Online Telekom) or at the Point of Presents POP (here Internet Telekom). Via the ER or POP, the user / customer receives corresponding purchase offers from the offer of the service provider selected by him (Fig. 2).
Using the example of a request service for music, which is referred to below as “Music on Demand”, the procedure for the purchase process of a music title on the Internet or T-Online is explained in greater detail, including the method according to the invention.
The customer dials into the online shop of the "Music on Demand" data service and can choose from a number of music tracks on offer. Communication takes place via the user / customer route ISDN channel Bl to the service provider via the T-Online or access platform Internet and on to ER or POP and back.
-Über den gleichen Weg erfolgt die Rückmeldung über die durch den User/Kunden ge- troffene Auswahl.-The feedback is given in the same way via the selection made by the user / customer.
Weg realisiert.-If the provider indicates to the customer that he can receive a real-time listening sample, the corresponding purchase contract will also be made via the above. Way realized.
-Die Lieferung erfolgt in Echtzeit vom AVS-Serversystem über den ISDN-Bypass-The delivery takes place in real time from the AVS server system via the ISDN bypass
(zweiter ISDN-Nutzkanal B2) zum User/Kunden. Ausgelöst durch den Bestellvorgang wird der User/Kunde automatisch vom AVS-Serversystem des ER bzw. des POP angewählt und gerufen (Fig. 2).(second ISDN user channel B2) to the user / customer. Triggered by the ordering process the user / customer is automatically dialed and called by the AVS server system of the ER or POP (Fig. 2).
Danach wird beim User/Kunden sofort der für die Hörbarmachung des digitalen Audiofiles notwendige Player gestartet.-The call is received and accepted by a communication tool of the user / customer. The user / customer then immediately starts the player required to make the digital audio file audible.
The listening sample is immediately transmitted in real time via the ISDN bypass (user channel B2) as desired. The connection between user / customer and the online shop of the Music on Demand data service via the control path (ISDN user channel B1) remains.
The principle for this procedure is shown in Fig. 3a. Via the ISDN bypass; If required, ISDN user channel B2 can provide a data rate of, for example, 56 kbit / s for each user / customer for the real-time transmission of a data delivery. This bit rate is guaranteed over ISDN for each individual user / customer, even simultaneously. Regardless of this, the full bit rate of the standard data transmission path (ISDN channel B1) is also available to every user / customer for research.
If the customer asks for the offer to buy the complete musical work after the real-time audio sample and decides to buy it, he can get possession of the selected musical work as follows:
- Über die bereits bestehende Verbindung über den ISDN Nutzkanal B 1 erfolgt die Auswahl und der Abschluß des Kaufvertrages des User/Kunden über das komplette Musikwerk,.- Via the existing connection via the ISDN user channel B 1, the selection and conclusion of the purchase contract of the user / customer takes place over the entire musical work.
After the conclusion and confirmation of the purchase contract, the user / customer is automatically dialed and called by the interactive AVS server system via the ISDN user channel B2. the communication tool of the user / customer accepts the call and issues the command to terminate the online connection (standard connection) which is switched via the ISDN user channel B1,
Beide ISDN-Nutzkanäle B 1 und B2 werden über die sogenannte Client-Software ( Kommunikationstool) angenommen und entsprechend gebündelt, the ISDN user channel B 1 thus released is also automatically switched through to the user / customer via the ISDN bypass. Both ISDN user channels B 1 and B2 are accepted via the so-called client software (communication tool) and bundled accordingly,
The client software immediately starts the audio player and plays the music to be delivered immediately. At the same time, the music file is saved on the hard drive of the data terminal of the user / customer.
As a result of the procedure described above, both ISDN user channels with gross 128 Kbit / s are available to the user / customer for receiving the data delivery (here music file). This bit rate can be guaranteed worldwide via ISDN.
The principle for this procedure is shown in Fig. 3 b.
Here the user / customer has the entire bit rate of the ISDN channels B1 and B2 available for receiving the data delivery via the ISDN bypass. The data transfer of user data at a data rate of 112 Kbit / s is shown as real-time transmission. This bit rate is guaranteed over ISDN for each individual user / customer in real time.
The method according to the invention can be used advantageously in all data services which have an interactive AVS server system.
Mögliche Einsatzgebiete werden insbesondere bei Anforderungs-Services gesehen, wie beispielsweise - Audio on Demand, - Music on Demand,Possible areas of application are seen in particular with request services, such as - audio on demand, - Music on Demand,
- Bücher on Demand,- books on demand,
- Clips on Demand,- clips on demand,
- News on Demand - Still-Picture on Demand,- News on Demand - Still-Picture on Demand,
- Video on Demand über ISDN,- Video on Demand over ISDN,
- on Demand Services über Breitband-Kommunikations-Netze und- on demand services via broadband communication networks and
- on Demand Services über Sondernetze.- on demand services via special networks.
The method according to the invention offers, with the simultaneous connection of all users / customers to the data service, in addition to the possibility of individually increasing the data rate from 64 kbit / s to 128 kbit / s and the data delivery of orders in real time, which are described below. A fundamental advantage is that the data connection for the delivery of data is established online from the AVS server system to the user / customer. This is the basic prerequisite for effective control of the delivery route to the user / customer, which has not been known until now. Evidence of data delivery to the user / customer defined by his phone number can be provided via the AVS server system. Furthermore, it is possible to program the AVS server system in such a way that only users / customers can receive data deliveries that are assigned to a limited territory. For example, data deliveries can be restricted to the FRG by blocking the foreign codes in the AVS server system. This option is demanded again and again by the service providers, since it facilitates the billing of the service used by the user / customer and only partially enables (prevention of data deliveries abroad). Knowing the number of the user / customer can, for example, also implement a hierarchy of authorization levels for data deliveries. This can be done, for example, via the phone number in connection with a password or access code. In the event that data deliveries are to be restricted to a specific territory, it is advisable to completely block the ISDN standard data transmission path via the ISDN user channel B1 for data deliveries by downloading. The solution according to the invention is suitable for further increasing the acceptance of the data services, in particular also on the Internet, since it enables real-time data deliveries with a guaranteed data rate even when the shared data access is fully utilized.
