Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device with a shaft for transmitting torque to a profile tube, of which a longitudinal end region of the shaft surrounds and which is axially displaceable relative to the shaft, wherein a plurality of endless rows of rotating rolling elements are arranged as linear guide elements between the shaft and the profile tube are.
  • a shaft for transmitting torque is known, which is designed as a telescopic steering shaft for motor vehicles. It has an outer, tubular shaft part and an inner, also tubular shaft part, between which balls are arranged as load-bearing rolling elements of ball revolutions. These supporting balls are supported directly on the shaft parts in grooves, so that both shaft parts must be designed as hardened steel parts. Longitudinal grooves are required for the raceways of the supporting balls both in the inner shaft part and in the outer shaft part. The construction is chosen so that corresponding bulges of the shaft parts have arisen in the areas of the grooves. This results in a high cost of materials and manufacturing.
  • the object of the invention is to enable the transmission of torques even from shafts which have lower hardness values than steel shafts, so that light metals, for example, are used as shaft materials or composite materials can be selected.
  • Such a linear guide is intended to enable axial strokes within very wide limits with transmission of the torques without play.
  • This object is achieved in that steel insert bodies are fastened to the shaft, on which raceways for force-transmitting rolling elements of the rotating rows are formed.
  • This solution has the advantage that the shaft can be made lightweight, since only the steel insert body needs to be hardened.
