Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Knochennagel (10) für die Markraumnagelung langer Röhrenknochen (16). Um zusätzliche Querverriegelungen oder ein Aufbohren des Knochenmarkraumes (19) im Schaftbereich zu vermeiden, wird gemäß der Erfindung der Einzatz eines Knochennagels aus einer Nickel-Titan-Legierung vorgeschlagen, die bei einer Temperatur, die geringer als die menschliche Körpertemperatur ist, plastisch verformbar ist und bei Körpertemperatur wieder die ursprüngliche Form annimmt, wobei der Knochennagel bei Körpertemperatur wenigstens eine Auslenkung (12, 13, 14) von der geraden Mittelachse aufweist und bei der niedrigeren Temperatur in einen im wesentlichen geraden Verlauf bringbar ist. Dadurch kann sich der Knochennagel fest innerhalb des Markraumes verspannen und den Knochen gut stabilisieren.
