Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von organisch modifizierten Aerogelen mit dauerhaft hydrophoben Oberflächengruppen, bei dem man (a) ein Lyogel vorlegt, (b) das in Schritt (a) vorgelegte Lyogel mit einem organischen Lösungsmittel wäscht, (c) das in Schritt (b) erhaltene Gel oberflächensilyliert, und (d) das in Schritt (c) erhaltene, oberflächensilylierte Gel trocknet, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man in Schritt (c) als Silylierungsmittel ein Disiloxan der Formel (I) R3Si-O-SiR3 verwendet, wobei die Reste R unabhängig voneinander, gleich oder verschieden, je ein Wasserstoffatom oder ein nicht reaktiver, organischer, linearer, verzweigter, cyclischer, gesättigter oder ungesättigter, aromatischer oder heteroaromatischer Rest bedeuten.
