Description

Price-marking display
The subject of the invention is a price-marking display, which is used for simple and quick representation of numeric characters mostly as being the price of consumer goods.
In the broad field of commercial trade, but mainly in the field of retail trading such as warehouses and other specialist's, or small shops, but
Figure imgf000003_0001
en at markets it is very important to have a simple, but at the same time well visible and easy to handle representation of updated prices of the commercial goods l or the solution of the above task there are alread\ several well known methods in the prior art. The HU 1 (>2 073 patent describes an identification label made of a one piece, flexible material. The main point of this invention is. that the label has a plate on which the identification marks can be placed.
This plate is continued in a neck, which ends m a head-part There are tw o wings attached to the head-part for the purpose of fixing the label The disadwmtage of the solution is. that one label can contain onl> one numeric character, or identification mark, and so we have to change, or place the labels according to the numeric characters to be identified. Therefore w e need more pieces of each label for the representation of prices, or
Figure imgf000003_0002
other identification mark combinations
The US 4 258 490 patent claims a price display made of flexible ribbons. The main point of this invention is. that the numeric to be represented are placed on flexible ribbons, which are expanded before the openings of the board. The numeric characters of the price to be represented can be set in place b\ the turning of the ribbons into the required position. Disadvantage of the solution is, that the production of the board and the w orkout of the openings is rather complicated. The US 4 542 603 patent claims a display representing variable numeric characters, where the numeric characters are adjusted by the help of dark and light-coloured leaflets on the surface of the display, which can be folded on the basic plate as required. The disadvantage of the solution is, that it needs a mechanically complicated method of production.
The US 4 777 747 patent claims such a quickly changeable solution of numeric character's display, where on a basic plate there are nests' placed according to the requirements of a seven segments numeric character's display. In the nests there is a representing element, the colour of w hich is different, or opposite to that of the colour of the basic plate. This way the required numeric character with the help of the representing elements can be easih displa> ed on the basic plate. Disadvantage of the solution is. that a lot of small representing elements are needed, the handling of which is very difficult The recognition of the numeric characters prepared by this way is difficult due to the seven segmented representation.
While working out the price marking display according to this invention we realised, that by using a foldable. square formed paper sheet, on w hich the marking elements are formed in a way so that when folding them along the relevant folding axis they form nine one-figure numeric characters, l o the placement of such numeric character we use a plastic case containing rectangle formed compartments, on the lower edge of which the " I ' figure is to be seen. If we use the above described solution our above aim to display numeric figures can be realised.
The invention therefore is a display for the simple and quick representation of the prices of consumer goods. The price-marking display consists of a case - preferably divided into compartments - and one or more display sheet(s) which if needed can be put into the case. The display sheet is visually non-transparent, it is square formed and both sides of it have markings on them. Further this display sheet has folding lines and at the edge of the display sheet there are cuts made. The case consists of a non-transparent lower sheet and a visually transparent upper sheet, which is fixed to the lower sheet preferably by welding. On the lower sheet the w 1 ' figure (numeric character) is marked with the same marking elements as those being used on the display sheets. The display sheet is placed in the case folded wholly and/or partially along one or more folding line(s) according to one of the numeric characters - w2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 0. ' - required to be displayed.
A practical embodiment of a price-marking display according to this invention if in one or more compartment(s) of the case one or more information sheet is placed to represent some additional information about the goods such as : unit price, origin of goods, w rranty . Furthermore on the back side of the case there is one or more sticking fixing ribbon(s) placed.
Another practical embodiment of the price-marking display according to this invention if the lower sheet of the case and the display sheet is made of non- transparent plastic material, such as soft PVC. and the upper sheet of the case is made of visually transparent plastic material, such as soft PVC.
Further we get You acquainted with the solution w ith the help of the enclosed figures:

Fig. 5. - 13. we show the numeric characters of the display sheet after folding. Fig. I shows a possible embodiment of the price-marking display from the front view. On the figure You can see the case 1 of the price-mark g display, which if this embodiment is made of plastic, and which is divided into compartments by welding. On the case I the upper, neighbouring compartments serve the representation of the numeric characters and the unit of measure, or the unit price, whereas on the lower side of the case 1 , the two. long-shaped compartments serve for the placement of other information, such as name of good, country of origin.
In the compartments 2 of the numeric characters, on the lower sheet 3 there is a u r figure show n with the same marking 7. If we want to represent another numeric character, w e have to place the display sheet 6 - folded according to the shape of the required numeric character - into the compartments 2 . The display sheet shows the required numeric character, and al the same time uncovers the figure ' 1 ' on the lo er sheet 3 of the case I .
On Fig. 2. we show a side view of the embodiment of the price-marking display according to Fig. i The case I of the price-marking display consists of a non- transparent lower sheet 3 and a transparent upper sheel 4. w hich is fixed to the case for example by w elding 5 On the figure You can see one of the compartments 2 of the case 1 from the side. On the back side of the case 1 there is practically a self-sticking fixing ribbon 1 1 placed, w hich serves a simple fixing possibility of the price-marking display .
The Fig. 3. show s a front view of the display sheet On this side of the display sheet the markings 7 are placed according to the figure, and further in the display sheet 6 cuts 9 and folding lines 8 are made
On Fig. 4. You can see the other side of the display sheet 6 . The markings 7 are placed on the other side of the display sheel 6 as show n on the figure. The folding line 8 and the cuts 9 are on the same place on both side of the display sheet 6 . but their place on Fig. 4. is the image reflected by mirror on a horizontal axis compared to that of their placement on Fig. 3. due to the turning of the display sheet 6 .
Fig. 5. shows the numeric character '0' represented by the display sheet. The numeric character '()" can be folded by using the display sheet according to Fig.
4., so that the right edge of the display sheet 6 is folded along the vertical folding line 8. according to the position on the middle of the display sheet as shown on the figure.
Fig. 6. shows the numeric character ς2' . The character "2' can be folded by using the side of the display sheet according to Fig. 4., so that the lower edge of the display sheet 6 is folded along the lower horizontal folding line 8 on the middle of the display sheet 6.
Fig. 7. shows the numeric character \3\ The numeric character 3" can be folded by using the side of the display sheet 6 according to Fig. 3.. so that the right edge of the display sheet 6, - in the position as shown on the figure - is folded along the right, vertical folding line 8. and further we fold back the markings 7 between cuts 9 on the display sheet 6 along the folding line 8 .
Fig. 8. shows the numeric character L4' represented by the display sheel 6. The numeric character 4' can be folded by using the side of the display sheet 6 as shown on Fig. 4.. so that the left edge of the display sheet 6 is folded - in the position in the middle of the display sheet 6 as shown on the figure - along the left side vertical folding line 8 , and further we fold back the markings 7 above the upper cut 9 . on the right side of the display sheet 6 . This way we get an up side dow n figure of numeric character '4". the display sheet 6 folded accordingly as above has to be placed into the compartment of the price-marking display in normal position
Fig. 9. shows numeric character '5" represented by the display sheet 6. The numeric character 5" can be folded by using the side of the display sheet 6 as shown on Fig. 3 , so that the upper edge of the display sheet 6 is folded along the lower horizontal folding line 8 in the middle of the display sheet. Fig. 10. shows the numeric character '6' represented by the display sheet. The numeric character w6' can be folded by using the side of the display sheet 6 according to Fig. 3., so that the lower edge of the display sheet 6 is folded along the lower horizontal folding line 8 on the middle of the display sheet 6. The same shape of markings 7 in up side dow n position can be used for the representation of the numeric character ς9\
Fig. 1 1. shows the numeric character '7' represented by the display sheet 6 . The numeric character '7' can be folded by using the side of the display sheet according to Fig. 4.. so that the right edge of the display sheet 6 - in the position in the middle of the display sheet 6 as show n on the figure - is folded along the vertical folding line 8 on the right side to the left edge oi' the display sheel. The markings 7 between cuts 9 on the right side of the display sheet 6. as shown on Fig. 4. are folded back along the given folding line 8 . This way w e get the numeric character '7' in up side down position, the relevant, folded as above display sheet 6 has to be put into the compartment of the display sheet 6 in normal position.
Fig. 12. shows the numeric character '8" as represented by the display sheet 6 The numeric character '8" can be folded by using the side of the display sheel according to Fig. 3., so that the right edge of the displa sheet 6 - in the position in the middle of the display sheet 6 as shown on the figure - is folded along the right side vertical folding line 8 under the left side.
Fig. 13. show s the numeric character '9" as represented by the display sheel 6 . The numeric character '9' can be folded by using the side of the display sheet according to Fig. 3.. and can be folded the same w ay as described at numeric character ς6", so that the lower edge of the display sheet 6 is folded along the lower horizontal folding line 8 in the middle of the display sheet 6. The material of a possible embodiment in the concrete of the described tool according to this invention can be paper, or flexible plastic, or both, in which the folding line 8 is made by intaglio printing. The markings 7 are placed on the display sheet 6 in a 7x7 divided position, in the relevant order, which markings 7 can be shaped as squares, circles, hexagons, or polygons. The fixing of the price- marking display can be made by self-sticking ribbon on the back side of the price-marking display, or any other known way. like for example with the help of nippers, hangers, or studs.
The advantage of the price-marking display is. that it can represent all numeric characters in a simple way . by using only one display sheel for each decimal place, therefore there is no need to use ten different display sheets for each decimal place.
