There are two main kinds of line controlled model aeroplanes, these being either motor driven or motorless model aeroplanes. While the motor provides the necessary thrust in motor driven model aeroplanes, motorless model aeroplanes rely upon the user to manually swing the line in a circular motion so as to generate the necessary centrifugal force on the aeroplane to elevate it an appropriate altitude for flying in a substantially circular path around the user.

Abstract

Le jouet volant (10) de la présente invention possède un corps (15) ayant un axe longitudinal et une surface aérodynamique (24, 26) de chaque côté dudit axe mais aucune surface fonctionnelle d'un point de vue aérodynamique capable de réguler ou de contrer le mouvement de lacet. Une première ligne de commande (14) est reliée audit corps (15) à l'avant de son centre de gravité et une seconde ligne de commande (16) est reliée à ce corps (15) à l'arrière dudit centre de gravité. Les autres extrémités des lignes de commande (14, 16) sont attachées à une poignée (18) qu'un utilisateur peut faire bouger pour exercer une force suffisante destinée à maintenir le corps (15) porté par l'air, la manipulation des lignes de commande (14, 16) permettant d'agir sur le couplage entre les mouvements de lacet, de tangage et de tonneau et sur les forces de gravitation s'exerçant sur le corps (15) de manière à faire exécuter au corps (15) des manoeuvres de vol.
