Abstract

Selon cette invention, un système de traitement de transactions financières comprend un support d'identification sur lequel sont enregistrées certaines informations personnelles d'identification constituées par la signature du détenteur du support ou relatives à cette signature et/ou à une des caractéristiques corporelles du détenteur du support et qui servent à identifier le détenteur du support. Ce système comprend en outre un moyen de traitement pour le traitement d'une transaction financière. Ce moyen de traitement comprend un moyen de lecture servant à lire les informations enregistrées sur le support d'identification; un moyen collecteur qui sert à recueillir les informations personnelles d'identification d'un type identique à celles enregistrées sur le support d'identification, ces informations provenant d'une personne présentant le support d'identification en vue du traitement d'une transaction; un moyen comparateur qui sert à comparer les informations personnelles d'identification obtenues à partir du moyen de lecture avec les informations obtenues à partir du moyen collecteur; et une unité de traitement qui, au moment de l'utilisation, traite la transaction requise, uniquement lorsque les informations personnelles d'identification obtenues à partir du moyen de lecture correspondent aux informations obtenues à partir du moyen collecteur. Cette invention se rapporte également à un moyen de traitement conçu pour être utilisé dans un tel système.
