Abstract

Verfahren zur In-situ-Bestimmung von Primärteilchengrößen. Die Größenbestimmung kleiner, insbesondere nanoskaliger Teilchen ist nach heutigem Stand der Technik in einem Prozeß nur dergestalt möglich, daß ein Maß für die Größe eines Aggregates, also eines aus mehreren Primärteilchen bestehenden Gebildes, ermittelt wird, und liefert nur für isoliert vorliegende Primärteilchen ein richtiges Maß. Mit dem neuen Verfahren ist es möglich, in beiden Fällen Primärteilchengrößen und weitere, daraus ableitbare Parameter zu bestimmen. Zur Größenmessung werden die Teilchen mit einem hochenergetischen Strahlungspuls bestrahlt. Die emittierte thermische Strahlung wird zu zwei Zeitpunkten detektiert, wobei aus dem gemessenen Signalverhältnis mit Hilfe eines errechneten Modells eindeutig die Partikelgröße bestimmt werden kann. Das Verfahren eignet sich zur Größenmessung kleiner Partikel bei verschiedenen Produktions- und anderen Umwandlungsprozessen, beispielsweise für Ruß und Metalloxide.
