Description

- 1
SAFETY RAZOR INCLUDING A FOAM DISPENSER
Background of the Invention Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to an improved safety razor including a foam dispenser, and more particularly, to a safety razor assembled with a shaving foam dispenser whereby shaving foam flows from the shaving foam dispenser by pressing a valve on the shaving foam dispenser.
Description of Related Art
Various types of safety razors are known in the art which do not assemble with a shaving foam container. Accordingly, these safety razors need a separate shaving foam container. It is very inconvenient to carry such extra containers, particularly when travelling. Thus, none of the known conventional safety razors provides a convenient safety razor member assembled with a shaving foam dispenser which can be used a multiplicity of times by merely changing the safety razor member or the shaving foam container. There are several types of safety razor devices enclosing a flexible shaving cream dispenser therein. For example, U.S. Patent Nos. 4,653,188 and 4,760,642 disclose a razor containing a squeezable shaving cream dispenser therein. However, these patents do not disclose a safety razor having a razor member which is assembled with a shaving foam dispenser which forms a handle of the safety razor, so that it is not necessary for a traveler or a tourist to carry a separate foam dispenser.
Summary of the Invention Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved safety razor containing a foam dispenser, which eliminates the above problems encountered with conventional safety razors.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a safety razor having a razor member assembled with a shaving foam dispenser wherein both of the razor member and the shaving foam dispenser are changeable. A further object of the present invention is to provide a safety razor containing a shaving foam dispenser which is simple in structure, inexpensive to manufacture, durable in use, and refined in appearance.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a safety razor having a razor member assembled with a shaving foam dispenser whereby the user pushes a valve of the shaving foam dispenser to immediately dispense a shaving foam from the dispenser to a shaving area on the human body, and then the razor is operated.
Another objects and further scope of applicability of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description given hereinafter. It should be understood, however, that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating preferred embodiments of the invention, are given by way of illustration only, since various changes and modifications within the spirit and scope of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from this detailed description.
Briefly described, the present invention is directed to a safety razor having a razor member assembled with a shaving foam dispenser, with the shaving foam dispenser having a foam container, a valve and a cap. The shaving foam in the foam container is dispensed to be applied on the human surface by pressing the valve after opening the cap, so that it is very convenient for a traveler or a tourist.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given hereinbelow and the accompanying drawings which are given by way of illustration only, and thus are not limitative of the present invention, and wherein; FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an improved safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser according to the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a front elevational view of the improved safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser according to the present invention containing cut away portions in order to illustrate the construction of the device;
FIG. 3 is a front elevational view of the improved safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser according to the present invention in an operation position;
FIG. 4 is an front elevational view of a second embodiment of the improved safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser according to the present invention containing cut away portions in order to illustrate the construction of the device; and
FIG. 5 is an unexploded perspective view of a third embodiment of the improved safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser according to the present invention.
Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiments
Referring now in detail to the drawings for the purpose of illustrating preferred embodiments of the present invention, the improved safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser as shown in FIGs. 1, 2 and 3, comprises a razor member S and a shaving foam dispenser member F, assembled with the razor member S.
The razor member includes a head 1 containing a blade 11 received by a blade attachment portion, and a first grip 2 extending from the head 1 through a neck 22. The first grip 2 has a cylindrical configuration including a cylindrical hollow portion 21.
The shaving foam dispenser member F includes a second grip 3 for grasping by a user of the safety razor formed by the exterior cylindrical sidewall surface of a cylindrical foam can 31. The foam can
31 is provided with foam 36 stored herein. A valve 32 controls the flow of foam 36 from within the cylindrical foam can 31. A cap 33 covers the valve 32 to prevent accidental dispensing of the foam 3(3
(FIG. 3).
The bottom end portion 34 of the cylindrical foam can 31 is inserted into the cylindrical hollow portion 21 of the first grip 2, so that the user can grip the second grip 3 of the shaving foam dispenser member F when shaving. The diameter of the cylindrical hollow portion 21 of the first grip 2 is slightly larger than the diameter of the bottom end portion 34 of the cylindrical foam can 31 so that the cylindrical foam can 31 will be engaged by the inner sidewall of the hollow portion and fit tightly therein. The length of the first grip 2 may be short such that only the bottom end portion 34 of the cylindrical foam can 31 fits therein, or the length of the first grip 2 may be long such that it encloses substantially the entire cylindrical foam can 31, or the length may be anywhere between these two extremes. The razor member S and the shaving foam dispenser member F can be tightly assembled with each other to form a composite structure, and can be easily disassembled from each other and can be replaced independently of one another.
The safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser according to the present invention assembles and operates as follows. In assembly, the bottom end portion 34 of the cylindrical foam can 31 is inserted into the cylindrical hollow portion 21 as shown in FIG. 2. In operation, as shown in FIG. 3, after removing the cap 33, the shaving foam 36 is dispensed through an aperture 35 of the valve 32 by pressing the valve 32. Thereafter, the user spreads the foam 36 on the human body area for shaving. After putting the cap 33 on, or not, the user shaves with the head 1, containing the blade 11 of the razor member S. In this way, the user can easily and readily use the shaving foam 36 from the shaving dispenser member F and the blade 11 of the head 1 of the razor member S at the same time when travelling.
Referring in detail to FIG. 4, there is illustrated a second embodiment of a safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser in accordance with the present invention. The safety razor including a shaving foam dispenser in accordance with the second embodiment of the present invention comprises the razor member S, the shaving foam dispenser member F, and a first cylindrical configuration.
