Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé qui permet d'augmenter le nombre des cellules adultes des îlots de Langerhans du pancreas, aux fins de transplantation, et consiste à mettre en contact ces cellules avec une matrice extracellulaire de laminine 5. Après trois passages en culture, le nombre des cellules est multiplié par 1500 suite au contact avec la matrice déposée provenant de cellules d'un carcinome de vessie de rat de type 804G. On observe également une augmentation du nombre des cellules des îlots au contact d'une matrice soluble de type 804G. Les nouvelles cellules des îlots de Langerhans du pancreas ainsi obtenues contiennent de l'insuline et réagissent à l'épreuve de tolérance au glucose.
