Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement (1) for a roller bearing (2) which exhibits a number of bearing rollers (5) distributed along the inside (3) of an outer bearing ring (4), which rollers on one side are in contact with the inside (3) of the outer bearing ring and on the other side are in contact with an inner bearing box (7) passed onto a shaft (6). In accordance with the invention the inner bearing box (7) exhibits a convex bearing surface (8), more specifically a cylindrical spherical outward-facing bearing surface, in conjunction with which said inner bearing box (7) together with the shaft (6) are capable of mutual adjustment at an angle α in relation to the central axis (9) of the outer ring (4) and of axial adjustment (21, 22).

Description

RolJer bearing device.
The present invention relates to an arrangement for a roller bearing which exhibits a number of bearing rollers distributed along the inside of an outer bearing ring, which on one side are in contact with the inside of the outer bearing ring and on the other side are in contact with an inner bearing box passed onto a shaft, which inner bearing box exhibits a convex bearing surface, more specifically a cylindrical spherical outward-facing bearing surface, in conjunction with which said inner bearing box together with the shaft are capable of mutual angular adjustment in relation to the central axis of the outer ring. DE,C, 95100 shows a shaft supported in bearings with end bearings at one end of the shaft and with freely rotatable bearing rollers and a convex bearing surface.
SE,B, 361 341 shows adjustable shafts with curved bodies thereon, which act against fixed bearing rollers.
.US,A, 1,973,994 shows curved roller bodies, although with straight shafts.
British Patent No. 711 705 shows a self- adjusting needle bearing.
None of the previously disclosed bearings permits axial adjustment of the bearing ring and the shaft relative to one another.
The principal object of the present invention is, in the first instance, to provide an arrangement of the kind indicated above which, with simple and effectively functioning means, permits a solution to the problems of achieving considerable lateral axial displacement of a shaft supported on bearings and the adjustment of the shaft to the desired angle also in the case of large machines where high loads make their effect felt. A further object is the ability to produce the arrangement economically and in a production- friendly fashion.
Said objects are achieved by means of an arrangement in accordance with the present invention, which is characterized essentially in that the outer bearing ring and the freely rotatable bearing rollers are capable of moving together with the inner bearing box and the shaft in an axial direction in relation to one another, in that said bearing box exhibits an axial extent such that its width exceeds the concave bearing surface of the bearing rollers, and in that the outer envelope surface of all the bearing rollers is congruent and shares a common radius along one section with the convex bearing surface of said inner bearing box.
The invention is described below as a preferred illustrative embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which
Fig. 1 shows a schematic sectional view of an arrangement for a roller bearing in accordance with a first illustrative embodiment with a bearing supported in bearings adjusted to an inclined position;
Fig. 2 shows a side view of said bearing arrangement shown in Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of said bearing arrangement in a partially sectioned view.
An arrangement 1 for a roller bearing 2 in accordance with the present invention, which exhibits a number of bearing rollers 5 distributed along the inside 3 cf an outer bearing ring 4, which on one side are in contact with the inside 3 of the outer bearing ring and on the other side are in contact with an inner bearing box 7 passed onto a rotating shaft 6, has said bearing box arranged in a special way. The inner bearing box 7 in fact exhibits a convex outer bearing surface 8. More specifically this bearing surface is a cylindrical spherical outward-facing bearing surface 8. The shaft 6, together with said inner bearing box 1 , is capable of joint adjustment for its angle α in relation to the central axis 9 of the outer ring.
The convex bearing surface 8 of said inner bearing box 7 is preferably essentially congruent with the outer envelope surface 10 of at least one of the bearing rollers 5.
The shaft 6 with its associated bearing box 7 are thus so arranged as to rotate about the point of revolution 11 in the desired direction of rotation 12, 13 for the purpose of adjusting the shaft 6 to the desired position of angular adjustment I.
The outer envelope surface 10 of all the bearing rollers 5 is congruent with a common radius R along a section L with the convex bearing surface 8 of said inner bearing box. The bearing rollers 5 preferably exhibit said concave bearing surface 10 along their central section.
Said bearing box 7 exhibits an axial extent such that the width C of same exceeds the concave bearing surface 10 of the bearing rollers 5. The cylindrical bearing surfaces 14, 15 situated to either side A, B of said concave bearing surface 10 are each so arranged as to act against the inside of said outer bearing ring 4 and, in so doing, to roll along their own rotation path 16, 17. Said inner bearing box 7 preferably exhibits the form of a ring with the shaft 6 accommodated in the central hole 18 of the bearing box 7. Said bearing rollers 5 are uniformly distributed along the periphery of the bearing and are enclosed each by its own bearing holder 19, 20. The outer bearing ring 4 and the freely rotating bearing rollers 5 are capable of movement together with the inner bearing box 7 and the shaft 6 in an axial direction 21, 22 in relation to one another. In order to make the work of the bearing rollers 5 easier, for example under high loads, it is possible to arrange a separate counterstay 23, for example, which exhibits a form, for instance a ring, such that the ring-shaped space 24 formed between the concave bearing surface 10 of the rollers and the inside 3 of the outer bearing ring is occupied completely, so that the load is transmitted to the surrounding bearing ring 4.
The advantages of this bearing include:
- Very simple manufacture. Standard components can be used. Simple machining. Little waste material.
- Permits considerable axial sliding.
- Extreme mobility - angular adjustments.
- Areas of application are primarily wind power generation stations, combine harvesters and other constructions. The invention is not restricted to the illustrative examples described above and illustrated in the drawings, but may be varied within the scope of the claims without departing from the idea of invention.
