Abstract

Ce procédé de détection du stress environnemental chez les plantes, et notamment du stress hydrique des plants de coton, repose sur une extraction par l'eau froide pratiquée sur des tissus végétaux tels que des fibres de coton. Un tel extrait est analysé par chromatographie à pH élevé par échange d'anions pour obtenir la séparation et la définition des caractéristiques des saccharides, oligosaccharides et autres produits glyco-conjugués extraits par l'eau froide. Les glucides extraits représentent un moyen exceptionnellement sensible de détecter un stress environnemental. Des plants subissant un tel stress présentent une altération tant qualitative que quantitative des glucides extraits, altération pouvant indiquer quand une irrigation complémentaire ou d'autres corrections des conditions de croissance s'imposent.
