Abstract

The invention relates to an energy supply system for heat-delivering appliances (11-14), such as a range, an oven, a sauna stove, a hot-water boiler etc., used in private houses or apartments. The system of the invention comprises a hot-gas generator or a like apparatus (1) which generates hot pressurized gas through combustion, the pressurized hot-gas produced thereby containing the combustion gases and being carried along a manifold (2) to a heat-delivering appliance (11-14).

Description

Energy supply system for heat-delivering appliances used in private houses or apartments
The present invention relates to an energy supply system for heat-delivering appliances, such as a range, an oven, a sauna stove, a hot-water boiler etc., used in private houses or apartments.
An object of the invention is to provide a novel type of energy production system for private houses or apartments, in which system the final service energy is produced directly at a consumption site and in a required form for saving the costs incurred by losses caused by the conversion and transfer of energy.
In order to achieve this object, a system of the invention is characterized in that the system comprises a hot-gas generator or a like apparatus which generates hot pressu¬ rized gas through combustion, the pressurized hot gas produced thereby containing the combustion gases and being carried along a manifold to a heat-delivering appliance.
The invention will now be described in more detail with reference made to the accompanying drawing, including just a single figure which illustrates schematically one system of the invention.
The system according to the invention comprises a hot-gas generator 1 , including a compressor element 7 and a turbine element 8 as well as a combustion chamber 9 provided with fuel supply means (not shown). The hot-gas generator 1 produces a hot, high-speed, pressurized gas which is carried along a manifold 2 by way of valves 3 to heat-delivering appliances, such as a range 11, a sauna stove 12, a hot tap- water boiler 13 and a convection element 14. In the convection element 14, the heat can be transferred e.g. into a heating medium used in the heating system of a house or apartment. The gas discharging from the heat-delivering appliances 11, 12, 13 can be further conducted to said convection element 14 in view of using the thermal energy contained in the outlet gas for heating the medium in a heating system.
In the illustrated exemplary embodiment, the hot-gas generator turbine 8 is provided with an electric generator 6 which can be used for operating various electrical appliances directly and/or for storing electrical energy in batteries 10.
The heat-delivering appliances 11-13 are preferably fitted with an internal heat exchanger 5 for controlling the temperature of a relevant appliance.
The system includes necessary control elements (not shown) which are used, whenever energy is needed, for starting up the hot-gas generator 1 and for carrying the gas heated and pressurized thereby to a relevant heat-delivering appliance.
The gas produced by the hot-gas generator has typically a temperature within the range of 400-800°C and preferably about 500°C.
The hot-gas generator used in a system of the invention is of a very compact size (for example, the sufficient amount of energy for a normal one-family house with the floor area of about 200 m2 is produced by means of a hot-gas generator the size of a regular coffee maker). The combustion of a fuel, preferably a liquid or gaseous fuel, used in a hot-gas generator is typically effected by using about 3-6 % of the oxygen content of the introduced air and, thus, the heated gas delivered into the appliances continues to contain about 15-18 % oxygen, which renders the system of the invention also environmentally friendly. The fuel used in the hot-gas generator comprises preferably oil or natural gas or liquid gas, whereby the hot pressurized gas generated by the hot-gas generator comprises a mixture of combustion gases from said fuel and air heated thereby.
