Abstract

The piping device that may be applied to the female urinary apparatus of disabled patients according to the present invention consists of a structure shaped for being sealing housed around the urine orifice of the female apparatus, and for leading the urine to the outside into a special sac or similar, also and especially if the patient is lying in bed.

Description

URINE COLLECTION DEVICE FOR FEMALES
The present invention concerns a device that may be used by disabled patients liying in bed and that can not move independently, and that may be applied to the female urinary apparatus for allowing urination without moving the disabled person.
It is known that in hospitals as well as in private homes patients of both sexes, temporarily or definitely unable to move from the bed for providing for their physiologic needs, make use of appropriate containers that may be placed, when requested, between the person's body and the sheets.
Furthermore, specific containers are known and used for the sole urination of the patients, for hydienically collecting the urine, and said containers are shaped so as to fit the male anatomic structure.
On the contrary, at present no specific device is known to the art, conceived for fitting the female urinary apparatus, so as to solve above mentioned important need.
It is the aim of the present invention to allow female patients to hygienically solve said need in a simple and functional manner.
The aim set forth is reached by means of the device according to the present invention, consisting of a structure shaped for being sealing housed around the urine orifice of the female apparatus, and for leading the urine to the outside into a special sac or similar, also and especially if the patient is liying in bed.
The advantage of the device according to the present invention is evident.
The device according to the present invention will be described hereinbelow relating to the enclosed drawings, in which three preferred embodiments are shown.
Figure 1 shows an external, axonometric view of a piping devide that may be applied to the female urinary apparatus of disabled patients. Figure 2 shows an axonometric, exploded view of the application to the device according to figure 1, of a covering and sealing element.
Figure 3 shows a variant of the device according to the present invention, that may be applied to a special slip or similar, for a continuous and not temporary use.
Figure 4 shows a variant provided with a perimetral application edge out of giving material.
The enclosed figures show a piping device that may be applied to the femal urinary apparatus of disabled patients, comprising:
- an upper shape of the collecting container, consisting of a wall A that rests on the mucosa of the vulva, and of an opening 1 cut in orthogonally so as to perfectly surround the femal urine orifice;
- a wall B, perpendicular to said surface A;
- two lateral walls C - C for completing the structure of the container, in part kept within the great lips and which, at the extremity opposite to surface A, meet with wall B and with a cylindric joint 2 that may be connected to a small pipe 3 for collecting the urine in a special sac 4; - a sealing element 5 conceived so as to cover said upper shape and therefore having an opening 1 ' in correspondence to said opening 1 that makes adhere, under a light pressure, said wall A to the mucosa and thus preventing even the slightest leak of urine.
Furthermore, at a distance that - e.g. - may be of 15 mm from said wall A, said device may have along the whole external perimeter, a groove 6 on which the edge of an elastic opening 8 of a special slip 7 is resting, that may be used in case of prolonged use, and that allows said wall A to press onto the mucosa of the vulva.
In the variant according to figure 4, the device according to the present invention comprises an upper edge having a shaping 9 out of giving rubber and outwardly turned with respect to the rigid structure of the piping, for adhering to and comprising all the femal apparatus and avoiding urine leakings during use, beyong a structure 10 for the connection to a possible slip. It is provided that all described means forming the device according to the present invention are realized out of hygienic materials for the variant "use and throw away", and out of materials like teflon and similar, that may be washed and disinfected for the variant of multiple use.

Claims

1. A piping device that may be applied to the female urinary apparatus of disabled patients, characterized in:
- an upper shape of the collecting container, consisting of a wall (A) that rests on the mucosa of the vulva, and of an opening (1) cut in orthogonally so as to perfectly surround the femal urine orifice;
- a wall (B), perpendicular to said surface (A);
- two lateral walls (C - C') for completing the structure of the container, in part kept within the great lips and which, at the extremity opposite to surface (A), meet with wall (B) and with a cylindric joint (2) that may be connected to a small pipe (3) for collecting the urine in a special sac (4);
- a sealing element (5) conceived so as to cover said upper shape and therefore having an opening (1') in correspondence to said opening (1) that makes adhere, under a light pressure, said wall (A) to the mucosa and thus preventing even the slightest leak of urine.
2. A piping device according to claim 1, characterized in the presence, along the whole 7
external perimeter, a groove (6) on which the edge of an elastic opening (8) of a special slip (7) is resting, that may be used in case of prolonged use, and that allows said wall (A) to press onto the mucosa of the vulva.
3. A piping device according to claim 1, characterized in elements out of materials conceived for a "use and throw away" use.
4. A piping device according to claim 1, characterized in elements out of teflon and similar, for washing and disinfecting many times.
5. A piping device according to claim 1 characterized in an upper edge having a shaping (9) out of giving rubber and outwardly turned with respect to the rigid structure of the piping, for adhering to and comprising all the femal apparatus and avoiding urine leakings during use, beyong a structure (10) for the connection to a possible slip.
