Abstract
Hair gel, characterized in that it is made in the form of a stiff substance.
Description
Hair αel. method for producing it. as well as method and apparatus for packing such hair αel.
This invention relates to hair gel, a method for producing it, as well as a method and an apparatus for packing such hair gel.
It is known that for giving strength and form to hair, a hair gel can be used. Such hair gel consists of a jelly- like, almost fluid mass, which is offered to the users, both private individuals and hairdressers, in pots.
Such hair gel of the known type has several disadvantages in use. Namely, it is rather difficult to apply such hair gel, among other things because it sticks to the user's hands, easily stains and is difficult to dose.
The present invention aims at remedying this.
To this end, the invention consists of a hair gel, characterized in that it is made in the form of a stiff substance. Due to the fact that the hair gel is made in the form of a stiff substance, it is more user-friendly, as this allows it to be packed in other ways.
According to the invention, the hair gel preferably consists of a classic hair gel which is mixed with a thickening agent, for instance a salt.
Preferably, the hair gel has the form of a bar or stick, which can then be applied in a suitable holder.
As mentioned above, the invention also relates to a method for producing the hair gel, characterized in that it consists in mixing a classic hair gel with a
thickening agent, for instance, as mentioned above, a salt.
During the mixing, the hair gel is preferably heated, so that the obtained mixture becomes liquid and can be poured into a mould, after which the thus obtained hair gel stiffens. According to a preferred embodiment, the above-mentioned mixture is poured into a cylindrical holder, which allows that after the stiffening, and during the use, the hair gel can be systematically pushed out.
The invention also relates to a method for packing the hair gel, which consists in the fact that it is applied in a holder as an extendible bar, so that the hair gel can be spread on the hair directly from the packing. Preferably, it is hereby packed in an apparatus as described hereafter.
The invention also relates to an apparatus for applying the above-mentioned hair gel, characterized in that it consists of a cylindrical holder which has an open extremity and in which the hair gel, which is made of a stiff substance, is applied, and means for systematically pushing the hair gel out of the holder through the open extremity. By using this apparatus, the hair gel can easily be spread on the hair, without making auxiliary elements, for instance a hair brush, or the hand dirty.
In order to better show the characteristics of the invention, some preferred embodiments according to the invention are described hereafter, as examples without any limitative character, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 represents an apparatus according to the invention, in closed position; figure 2 represents a cross-section along line II-II in figure 1, ready to use; figure 3 represents a cross-section along line III-III in figure 2; figure 4 represents a variant of an apparatus according to the invention.
As represented in figures 1 to 3, the apparatus l according to the invention consists of, on the one hand, a cylindrical holder 2 which has an open extremity 3, in which the hair gel 4, consisting of a stiff substance, is applied, and on the other hand, means 5 for systematically pushing the hair gel 4 out of the holder 2 through the open extremity 3.
The expression that the hair gel consists of a stiff substance means that it shows a certain stiffness, so that in free condition it maintains its form and does not collapse as a jelly-like mass, but can still be spread. How such hair gel can be obtained, has already been described in the introduction.
The means 5 for systematically pushing the hair gel 4 out of the holder 2 through the open extremity 3 consist of, on the one hand, a movable bottom 6, or an other support, which is applied in the cylindrical holder 2, and, on the other hand, a driving mechanism to move the bottom or support 6. Hereby, the driving mechanism can, as represented in figures 1 to 3, consist of a locally turnable knob 7 which is attached to the bottom of the holder, and a jack 8 connected thereto, which extends through an opening 9 in the bottom 6 and cooperates with a screw thread applied in this opening 9, in such a way
that the turning of the knob 7 results in the movement of the bottom 6 along the axial direction of the holder 2.
It is clear that the holder is provided with means which prevent the rotation of the bottom 6 with respect to the holder 2 in such a way that the turning of the knob 7 always results in an axial movement of the bottom 6. As represented in figure 2 and 3, these can consist of one or more ribs 10 on the inner wall of the holder 2, which cooperate with recess 11 in the bottom 6. It is clear that the bottom 6 can therefore only move along the direction of the ribs 10, and is prevented to turn with the rotational movement exerted on the knob 7.
The cylindrical holder 2 can, as represented in figure 3, have a circular cross-section.
Preferably, the hair gel 4 is attached to the bottom 6, so that it can be moved out of as well as into the holder 2 by the movement of the bottom 6. The attachment can be realized in different ways.
As represented in figures 2 and 3, the bottom 6 can be provided to this end with gripping means 12 which grip the bar-shaped hair gel 4. This gripping can for instance be obtained by the fact that the hair gel 4 is poured or pressed in the holder 2 during production, whereby the hair gel 4 ends up around the gripping means 12. According to a variant, the attachment can also rely on the adhesive power between the sticky hair gel 4 and the bottom 6.
As represented in figures 1 and 2, the apparatus 1 is preferably provide with a closing cap 13, which protects the hair gel 4 present in the holder 2 from desiccation.
The holder 2 is preferably cylindrical and has a diameter preferably inferior to 3 cm.
The above-mentioned means which prevent the turning of the bottom 6 can be of different nature. To this end, use can for instance be made of a non-cylindrical holder 2, for instance a holder 2 with an oblong cross-section, as represented in figure 4. The oblong form prevents the rotation of the bottom in the holder 2 and only allows an axial movement.
The means allowing that the knob 7 and the jack 8 are locally turnable can be of different nature. In the represented embodiment, more specifically in figure 2, these means consist of a part 14 at the bottom of the jack 8 which is mounted in a seat 15, more specifically a bore in the bottom wall of the holder 2, and is hence only rotatable.
The method for packing the hair gel 4 and the working and the use of the apparatus 1 can be easily be deducted from the figures.
The packing of the hair gel 4 takes place by pouring the it in liquid form into the holder 2, while the bottom 6 is completely screwed in, and by subsequently letting the hair gel 4 stiffen. According to a variant, the hair gel 4 is pressed in the holder 2 in its stiffened form.
During the application, the closing cap is removed and the bar-shaped hair gel 4 is somewhat pushed out of the holder 2, by turning the knob 7 in the required direction. After this, the hair gel 4 can simply be applied by moving the bar over the hair, whereby a spreading of the hair gel takes place.
The present invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described as examples and represented in the figures, but such hair gel, as well as the above- mentioned method and apparatus can be realized according to different variants without leaving the scope of the invention.
