Abstract

The iron alarm device is formed of an infrared light flux source (A) placed on the handle (M) of the apparatus and of an electronic photocommanded switch (B) whose photosensitive element (F) is placed on the same handle (M). The switch (B) in the case in which it receives infrared light flux from the source (A) causes the opening of the contact (K) through which the warming resistor (E) of the source (A) and the element (F) placed on the handle (M) the second element can receive the infrared light flux generated by the first one, only when nobody uses the iron. For this device not to start functioning when the apparatus is not used, plugged in, but vertically placed, it will be supplied through contact (K) which is closed only when the apparatus is in the horizontal position.

Description

THE IRON ALARM DEVICE
TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention refers to an alarm and protection device in case of forgetting a plugged iron in a horizontal position and not guarded.
BACKGROUND ART
There ar e known various protecting and signalling devices used with irons, formed of a transducer of temperature and a visual signal ιn order to stop the supply of the warming resistor of the irons in case that the temperature exceeds a certain value. These devices have the disadvantage that they do not signal the presence of an unprotected, plugged iron in a horizontal position.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
In this structure, the device has a source of infrared light flux supervised b y an electronic photocommanded switch: both of them are placed on the handle of the iron. In the structure of the device there are also an accoustic warning and a miniatural relay with time delay, that has the role to switch on a contact on the feeding circuit of the warming resistor of the iron. The feeding of the accoustic warning and of the relay is made with the aid of an electronic photocommanded switch. That feeding is realized only when the infrared light flux from the infrared source reaches the photosensitive element of the switch. The device is supplied by a contact characterized by the fact that it is switched off only in the situation in which the iron is in a horizontal position. Such a device eliminates the risk of fires by warning the user if the iron is plugged, not guarded and in a horizontal position. If the user takes no action towards unplugging or changing the position of tne iron, after a short time the device will stop the feeding of the warming resistor of the iron.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
The annexed drawings are :
Fig1: The fundamental circuit of the device
FIg2a: The position of the infrared light flux source H and of the photosensitive element in the inner part of the handle of the iron M
Fig2b: The position of the infrared light source and of the photosensitive element F on the central part of the handle or the iron
Fig3: The position which the contact K has when iron is in a horizontal position
Fig3b: The position that the contact K has when the iron is in a vertical position
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The device is formed of the infrared light flux source A on the handle of the iron M; the infrared light flux of the source is supervised by an electronic photocommandeo switch & which has a photocommanded element F on the handle M of the apparatus (see fig.2).
In the case when a person uses the iron, his hang will stop the infrared light flux generated by the source to reach the photosensitive element of the B switch. In that case the switch has the same function as an open switch as it feeds neither the acoustic warning nor the miniaturized relay of the time delayer If the user leaves the apparatus from his hand, the infrared light flux will reach the F photosensitive element of the electronic Photocommanded switch and then, the latter feeds, with a short delay, warning a nd the miniaturized relay that will open with time delay the K1 contact on the feeding circuit of the E warming resistor of the iron. The delaying of the action of the B photocommanded switch is necessary to prevent the getting into function of the acoustic warning when the apparatus is left i n a horizontal position for very short periods.
For this device to operate when the iron is left in vertical position and there is no danger to set something on fire, a contact K is placed on the feeding circuit of the infrared source A and of the B photocommanded switch, consequently the K contact is closed only when the apparatus in horizontal position. This contact is actionned by a transducer or by a sensor able to seize whether the iron is placed in a vertical position or in a horizontal one, and next to feed the rest of the device. Such a transducer can be the ball switch from the figure 3, which uses tne grav i ty force to determine the way in which the iron is placed. It is formed of: 1 - steady contact, 2 - mobile contact, 3 - a spring, 4 - metallic ball, 5 - the body of the switch. The mobile contact (B), made of a thin metallic blade which is very Flexible, must touch the steady contact (1) when the iron is in a horizontal position and the metallic ball (4) due to the gravity force, will also push it.The distance between the contacts (1) and ( 2 ) must be very short because when the ball (4) operates on the contact (2) they are to touch one another without difficulty. The spring (3) has the task to bring back the mobile contact ( 2 ) in the open position when the apparatus is in vertical position. The K switch will be placed in the interior of the apparatus in such a manner that is able to fulfil the functions mentioned above. The whole device is fed from the electric source by a transformer which mates the tension decrease and of an alternating current electrifier represented in the drawings with H.
