Abstract

The description relates to a process for treating textile substrates in supercritical fluids. The textile substrate is arranged in at least one autoclave and brought into contact with the supercritical fluid. Once the autoclave has been filled with the textile substrate, the volume occupied for the major part by the textile substrate and partially by the supercritical fluid is reduced. This volume is then increased again and thus the textile substance is impregnated with the supercritical fluid and/or the latter flows through it. A device for implementing the process of the invention has at least one autoclave to take the textile substrate. A region of the autoclave can move within the autoclave. This region can be moved between a first position in which the volume occupied for the major part by the textile substance and partially by the supercritical fluid is unchanged and a second position in which the volume is correspondingly reduced.
