Abstract

Appareil destiné à empêcher toute éruption non maîtrisée d'un gisement de pétrole ou de gaz, et notamment à éteindre l'incendie d'un puits de pétrole terrestre. L'appareil comporte un élément délimiteur (18) devant se placer au sol (4) autour de l'orifice (5) du puits et possédant un premier et un second passage (30, 31) permettant l'écoulement du fluide s'échappant du puits. En outre, l'appareil comporte des voies à rails (2, 3, 13, 14) devant se placer temporairement au sol (4) et servant à guider l'élément délimiteur (18) vers une position centrée au-dessus de l'orifice (5) du puits, dans laquelle cet orifice est aligné sur le premier passage (30); ainsi qu'un dispositif (10) servant à abaisser de manière contrôlée jusqu'au sol (4) l'élément délimiteur centré (18). Ledit élément délimiteur (18) est un élément monobloc de poids considérable dans lequel est installée une vanne (25) possédant un élément coulissant (28) destiné à venir obturer le premier passage (30) pendant l'ouverture simultanée du second passage (31).
