Description

The present invention relates to a backpack convertible into a folding seat and a camp bed, comprising a metal frame, or any other material, and a flexible pocket.

In this embodiment, the frame is of the telescopic type and the base of the camp bed folds in accordion under the flexible pocket constituting the backpack and which is fixed to an end section of this frame.

Cette disposition présente des inconvénients à la fois du point de vue de la construction et du point de vue de l' esthétique .This arrangement has drawbacks both from the point of view of construction and from the point of view of aesthetics.

The object of this invention is not a backpack and does not allow the transport of personal effects.

The US patents US-A-3 84-6 855 and US-A-4 511 071 as well as the English patent GB-A-2 181 640 all relate to a backpack which can be used as a bag and which is convertible into a cot. telescopic structure. In none of these embodiments is it possible to use the structure of the bag to obtain a chair.

The present invention proposes to improve the bags of the prior art by proposing a backpack making it possible to have available, under a reduced bulk, a bag, a seat and a camp bed, and which is light, robust. and the construction of which is sufficiently flexible so that it can be used under optimal conditions in as varied a manner as possible. For this purpose, the backpack according to the invention is characterized in that said tubular elements comprise a central element integral with said bag and two extension elements mounted telescopically, in that said central element comprises two parallel lateral tubes whose adjustable spacing defines the width of the camp bed and the flexible pocket, and two transverse connecting hoops with respect to the lateral tubes which define both the feet of the camp bed and respectively a support for supporting the bottom of the pocket and an entourage of the upper opening of this pocket, and in that the two extension elements each comprise two parallel arms arranged to be mounted in the extension of the lateral tubes of the central element and two elbows arranged at the respective ends of said parallel arms, to form additional feet for said camp bed.

According to a preferred embodiment, the parallel arms of the extension elements are arranged to slide in the parallel side tubes of the central element. For this purpose, the diameter of said arms is less than the diameter of the side tubes and the diameter of the arms of one of the extension elements is less than that of the arms of the other extension element.

In this embodiment, the elbows are substantially perpendicular to the parallel arms and can be oriented in the same direction as the connecting poles of the central element or in the opposite direction depending on whether the bag is converted into a camp bed or carried.

The flexible pocket preferably comprises a tarpaulin arranged to be stretched to constitute the bed base of the camp bed, and this tarpaulin can comprise in its central part two lateral flaps which are connected by tensioning members. Said tensioning members can be elastic elements each fixed at at least one point on the edge of one of the flaps and on a corresponding point on the edge of the other flap. Preferably, said tensioning members comprise strings and are engaged in eyelets arranged along the edges of the two flaps.

D' une façon avantageuse , la bâche tendue constituant le sommier du lit de camp peut comporter deux volets d' extrémités munis d' ourlets sur leur pourtour, ces ourlets étant agencés pour recevoir les bras parallèles des éléments de rallonge .Advantageously, the stretched tarpaulin constituting the bed base of the camp bed may comprise two end flaps provided with hems on their periphery, these hems being arranged to receive the parallel arms of the extension elements.

La présente invention sera mieux comprise en référence à la description d' un exemple de réalisation préférée et du dessin annexé dans lequel :The present invention will be better understood with reference to the description of a preferred embodiment and of the accompanying drawing in which:

Les éléments 34 et 35 sont maintenus en position déployée par quatre goupilles amovibles non représentées .With reference to FIG. 1, the bag 10 essentially comprises a flexible pocket 11 surmounted by another removable flexible pocket 12 acting as a cover. The pocket 11 is mounted, for example by means of belts 13, on a transformable frame 14 which will be described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3. Straps 15 and a belt 16, fixed in a known manner to the frame, allow the user to carry the bag on their back. The frame 14 as shown in Figure 2, which can be metallic or made of any other light but resistant metal, has a central element 19 which consists of two side tubes 30 and 31 connected together by two arches 32 and 33. In practice, these parallel lateral tubes and these connecting hoops are produced in a single cylindrical tube suitably curved and the two ends of which are brought back end to end and welded together. In this way the central element is made in one piece and has great rigidity. This frame further comprises two hollow cylindrical extension elements 34 and 35 which each comprise two parallel arms, respectively 34a, 34b and 35a, 35b, which are respectively extended by two elbows 36a, 36b and 37a, 37b. These elbows are obtained by bending the parallel arms 34a and 34b, 35a and 35b at 90 °. The extension element 34 is made of a tube with a smaller diameter than that used for the central element 19 so that the arms 34a and 34b can slide in the parallel lateral elements 30 and 31 of the central element thanks to openings formed in the junction zone between said parallel lateral tubes and the corresponding arches. The extension element 35 is in turn made of a tube of diameter smaller than that used for the production of the extension element 34- so that, when the arms 34a and 34.b are introduced into the tubes 30 and 31 (Figure 3), the arms 35a and 35b can slide inside the arms 34a and 34b. Finally, the extension elements comprise two removable crossmembers 38 and 39 which contribute to ensuring the stability of the frame when said elements are deployed. The elements 34 and 35 are held in the deployed position by four removable pins not shown.

For use as a backpack, as shown in FIG. 1, the frame 14 is folded up and constitutes a rigid structure to which the flexible bag 11 is attached.

In this case, the armature 14 is brought into its position deployed, a tarpaulin 17 is stretched over this frame and a cushion 18 is arranged at one end of the bed. It will be noted that the backpack is integral with a central element 19 of the frame, this central element also carrying the central part of the cover 17 which constitutes the bed base. End flaps, respectively 20 and 21, of the stretched sheet are retained by the two extension elements respectively 34 and 35 coupled to the central element of the frame 14. The crosspieces 38 and 39 threaded into the ends of flaps 20 and 21 ensure the tension of the sheet. - Perfect stability of this bed is obtained by the two rigid arches 32 and 33 of the central element 19, which constitute the central legs of this bed and by the elbows 36a, 36b and 37a, 37b of the extension elements, which constitute additional feet. During this use, the pocket 11 is located under the central part of the bed. When the bed is folded, one of the flaps of the sheet is folded over the opening of the pocket 11, the other flap being folded against the central part and held by known adhesive elements.

For this purpose, the central part of the stretched tarpaulin serving as the bed base for the cot is erected in a vertical position and constitutes the seat back. The placet placed on the ground is constituted by the flap 20 of the stretched tarpaulin 17 released from the frame. The stability of this seat is ensured by the arch 32 of the frame and in particular by the elbows 36a, 36b of the extension element 34 including the arms 34a and

34b ont été tournés à l'intérieur des tubes 30 et 31 afin que lesdits coudes se trouvent opposés à l' arceau 32 par rapport à l' élément central 19.34b have been turned inside the tubes 30 and 31 so that said elbows are opposite the arch 32 with respect to the central element 19.

Figure 6 shows the attachment of the tarpaulin on the deployed frame. The central part of the sheet forming the box spring has two flaps 40 and 41 respectively which are connected together by a taut string 42 and passing through a double row of eyelets 43. This connection between the two flaps 40 and 41 could also be ensured by elastic elements such as rubber rings fixed in the eyelets by hooks or the like. At the end sections, the stretched tarpaulin includes hems 44 having openings to allow the passage of the parallel arms of the extension elements 34, 35 and ensuring the connection between the tarpaulin constituting the base of the camp bed and the frame proper.

This backpack has multiple advantages due to its great flexibility of use. All the elements of the frame are easily removable. The backpack can also be easily detached from the central element of the frame. The pocket serving as a cover for the backpack can be removed to constitute the cushion 18 of the bed. This cover can also be equipped with flanges constituting handles and can, therefore, be made independent and form a second booster bag.

It is also possible to provide an embodiment in which the spacing between the lateral tubes is adjustable, which makes it possible to vary the width of the camp bed obtained.
