Abstract

Procédés de reconnaissance de caractères de données de quantités inscrites sur un document, telles que la quantité (10b) inscrite sur un chèque (10). La quantité (10b) comprend en général une partie en dollars (10b-2) et une partie en cents (10b-1). La reconnaissance de la quantité (10b) s'effectue en analysant une image de la zone du document contenant la quantité pour en dériver une caractéristique de séparation entre la partie dollars et la partie cents, telle qu'une période (fig. 14, PC) ou une fraction (fig. 17). La partie en cents séparée est entrée dans une catégorie, et on en déduit les caracters des cents en se basant sur la catégorie déterminée, après quoi les caractères de la partie dollars sont reconnus.
