- This invention relates to a monitoring apparatus, and in particular to a monitoring apparatus for artificial ventilation.
- Apparatus has been proposed for monitoring the relative humidity of the gas entering the infant, but its measurements depend on tapping a small amount (3-4%) of gas from the gas supply and feeding this through an electronic hygrometer and its associated thermistor. Consequently the sample size is small and the readings may be inaccurate.

Abstract
On décrit un appareil pour contrôler du gaz provenant d'un ventilateur, ledit appareil comprenant un détecteur disposé dans une chambre de détection (103) en communication gazeuse avec un conduit d'alimentation en gaz (102), qui amène du gaz dudit ventilateur à un patient. La communication gazeuse (11) disposée entre la chambre (103) et le conduit (102) permet au gaz provenant du conduit (102) d'entrer d'abord dans ladite chambre de détection (103), et ensuite dans ledit conduit (102). En général, on prévoit une chicane (15) pour dévier dans la chambre (103) une partie du gaz provenant du conduit (102). On peut également prévoir une bobine de chauffage (107) de manière à assurer une température du gaz à proximité du détecteur supérieure au point de rosée dudit gaz.
