Eine gattungsgemäße Schneckenpresse ist aus der O-A- 83/03.999 bekannt. Diese bekannte Schneckenpresse weist zwei Schnecken auf, die in einem Gehäuse drehbar gelagert sind und ineinander greifen. Sowohl das Gehäuse, als auch die Schnecken sind in Längsrichtung der Schneckenachsen gesehen mehrteilig ausgebildet, so daß die Länge der Schneckenpresse modulartig beliebig geändert werden kann und auch einzelne Gehäuse- und Schneckenelemente gegen an¬ dere ausgetauscht werden können. Die einzelnen Gehäuseele¬ mente sind dort in der durch die beiden Achsen der Schnek- ken gebildeten Ebene in zwei Hälften geteilt. Das ein- gangsseitige Gehäuseelement der bekannten Schneckenpresse weist in seiner oberen Mantelfläche eine Einfüllöffnung auf, während auf der Stirnseite des ausgangseitigen Gehäu¬ seelementes an einer Abschlußplatte eine Matritze angeord¬ net ist, durch die das aufbereitete Material in Form von Briketts, Chips od. dgl. abgeführt werden kann. Bei der erfindungsgemäßen Schneckenpresse, insbeson¬ dere zum Zerkleinern von Materialien, wie organischen Ab¬ fällen od. dgl., mit insbesondere zwei ineinandergreifen¬ den Schnecken, die in einem Gehäuse umlaufen, welches die Schnecken unmittelbar umhüllt, und mit einer Abschlußplat¬ te an dem ausgangsseitigen Ende der Schneckenpresse, ist nun eine der beiden Schnecken durch die Abschlußplatte hindurch verlängert und diese Verlängerung ist von minde¬ stens einem Gehäuseteil umgeben. Vor dem Austreten aus der Schneckenpresse wird das zu bearbeitende Material also nochmals mittels einer einzelnen Schnecke bearbeitet. Da¬ durch wird ein größerer Trocknungsgrad erreicht, als durch Verlängerung beider Schnecken der Schneckenpresse.
