Abstract
The invention regards a hydraulic roller-brush drive, as used for the sweeping of roads, squares and the like. The invention permits the space between the suspension-arms (12), (20) of the carrying frame of the roller-brush (1) to be maximally utilized. This is achieved by placing a hydraulic drive unit (22) within the roller-brush (1) with the help of an auxillary support (18).
Description
Roller-brush Drive
The invention regards a hydraulic drive for roller-brushes, as used for the sweeping of roads, squares and the like. The drive is placed within the brush so the carrying-frame of the brush is slightly broader than the brush itself.
Usually, roller-brushes are driven by chaines or conic cog-wheels. These constructions have the disadvantage that these drives are placed outside the brush, so they can easily be damaged while manouevering. Furthermore, the sweeping-capacity along objects of these conventional roller-brushes is reduced by the mentioned placing,
The invention permits the space between the suspention-arms of the carrying-frame to be maximally utilized. This is achieved by placing a hydraulic motor within the roller-brush.
Fig. 1 shows a section of the brush as mounted between the suspention- arms of the carrying-frame.
De roller-brush (1) consists of rings (2), provided with long bristles which are slided onto a frame of profiled bars (4). A plate (5) protects the sliding off of the rings (2), The profiled bars (4) are connected by welding to disks (6) and shaft (7). Disk (8) comprises a connection-piece (9) in which the shaft (7) is fixed rigidly. At the end of profiled bars (4) a ring (10) is welded. Shaft (7) has on one side a bearing in a bearinghouse (11) which is fixed to the suspension arm (12) with bolts. Disk (8) has a provision (13) in which coupling (14) fits, fastened with bolts. Provision (13) keeps coupling (14) concentric with the shaft (7). Reduction-gearbox (16) is suspended to an annular ring (17) of auxiliary support (18). Within coupling (14), shaft (15) of reduction-gearbox (16) is fastened rigidly. Auxiliary support (18) stretches out to just outside the roller-brush (1) and is attached with a welded bloc (19) to suspension-arm (20) with bolt (21). The hydraulic motor (22) has its connections to the supply- and return
hoses not shown) in part (23).
In case the hydraulic motor is coupled directly to disk (8), auxiliary support (18) is adapted to the mountingflange of the hydraulic motor (22).
