Description
Leakage warning device for water pipes or the like
The present invention refers to a leakage warning device f water pipes or the like, located in spaces having no discharg and which leakage warning device is designed as a receptacle, the bottom of which is provided an opening through which t water pipe is insertable, and which- opening is designed enclose the pipe in a water-tight manner, the receptac furthermore being provided with a discharge conduit.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
According to the building provisions there shall be provided waste water conduit from such valves or connections that, e. due to the movement of the building may begin to leak. Such was water conduits shall be extended to a properly located dischar unit. In appartment houses it occurs that the pipe stems for h and cold water are located in particular shafts, and from whi feed conduits extend to the different floor plans. In order know on which plan a leakage has occured, there are provided floor in the shaft in level with the floor plan, which floor c collect leaking water. As those floors have only this wat collecting function it means an unnecessary increase of t installation cost.
The water- leakage occuring begins most frequently as a very sma volume, i.e. as a drip of water, when the pipe coupling becom slightly loose or when soldering or welding connections ha become untight. Such leakage may often be attended to with ve simple means if observed at an early stage, thus that the ri for overflow never will become acute.
PURPOSE AND MOST ESSENTIAL FEATURES OF THE INVENTION
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a leaka warning device, which is easy to insert both in existing wat stems and at new construction, which may be adapted to differe existing pipe dimensions, and which bridges also bigger distanc
between the pipe and a room having a floor drain or the like. Th leakage warning device shall furthermore be unexpensive t manufacture, easy to install and it shall not require an maintenance whatsoever. These tasks have been solved in that th opening in the receptacle is elastic and preferably provided wit an internal step-shaped socket, wherein each step corresponds t the external diameter of pipe dimensions oftenly occuring a water pies, and that outside the socket is attachable a hos clamp or the like for water-tightly pressing the opening agains the pipe, and that in the wall of the receptacle is provided a least one recess impression and/or at least one laterall directed socket for receiving a branch pipe or the like on th water pipe, and that the outlet end of the discharge conduit i connectable to a discharge fitting adapted to open in a roo separated from the space and having a discharge.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
The leakage warning device according to the invention comprises receptacle 11, in the bottom of which is provided an opening 1 through which is insertable a water pipe 13. The opening 12 surrounded by a flange 14, which can be applied against the pi 13 by aid of a hose clamp 15. The flange 14 is an extension of cylindric socket 16, arranged around the bottom of the receptac 11. In the bottom 17 of the receptacle there is provided outlet 18, such as can be seen from Fig. 1 and 2, said outl having an intake mouth 19 preferably situated a short distan above the bottom 17. A hose 20 is connected to the outlet openi 18 for leading away the leakage water, which possibly has be collected by the receptacle and which water is discharged, e. from the shaft where the water pipe 13 is located and to a ro having a floor drain, thus that the leakage may be observed. T outlet end of the hose 20 is connected to an outlet fitting 2 which is preferably provided in the wall of the bathroom or t like some centimeters above the upper edge of the sill. It also possible to locate the outlet fitting above a dischar hopper, a bathtub or the like. The outlet fitting 21 may equipped with several connections 21a, e.g. for hot water co water, radiator water etcetera.
In order to be able to adapt the leakage warning device different pipe dimensions it is possible to design the openi 12 with an internal step-shaped connecting socket 22. T different step-shaped sections correspond to different occuri pipe dimensions. By cutting off the nearest smaller step secti is it possible to adapt it to different pipe dimensions.
The leakage warning device according to the invention is alwa fitted below a connection, a valve, a welded or soldered joint a branch conduit. In the last mentioned case it may be proper locate the branch inside the receptacle 11, which for th purpose is provided with one or more recess impression 23, whi after having been cut out form recesses for a branch conduit.
The leakage warning device can furthermore be provided with a l 24 equipped with a circumferential edge portion 25, which lid c be snapped onto the opening 26 of the receptacle 11. The lid m also be provided with recess impressions (not shown), and it m also be slotted radially, thus that the lid may be thread on existing pipe conduits.
The leakage warning device shown in Fig.s 1 and 2 is primari intended to be used in new construction, whereas the t embodiments shown in Fig.s 3 to 8 are intended to be applied existing pipe conduits. The difference between these t variants from the one shown in Fig.s 1 and 2, iε that t embodiments according to Fig.s 3 - 5 and Fig.s 6 - 8 are axial slotted thus that the leakage warning device may be thread up existing conduits.
The receptacle 11 in the embodiment shown in Fig.s 3 - 5 is al an axial slot 27 designed with longitudinal flanges 28 and which will engage each other, and which by means of pro connecting means 30 may be brought to be pressed to a seal engagement against each other. The inside of the flanges 28, are preferably provided with a longitudinal seal 31, e.g. sealing tape. The connecting means 30 in the embodiment shown rails, which may be thread over the flanges 28, 29 the cro sections of which have undercuttings.
The embodiment according to Fig.s 6 - 8 differs from embodiment shown in Fig.s 3 - 5 in that the longitudinal slot in the receptacle 11 is designed as a snap lock with tongues and 35, which may be snapped into each other. The tongues may glued, thus that a completely tight joint is obtained.
Instead of providing a possible branch from the pipe 13 c pletely inside the receptacle, such as shown in the preceed embodiments, this embodiment has a branch portion 33 par arranged inside the receptacle 11 and partly in the lid 24.
The invention is not limited to the embodiments shown
described but a plurality of variants are possible within scope of the appended claims.
