Abstract
A combination bag for medical care personnel, service personnel and those in similar occupations and consists of two halves (2, 3) which are hingeably connected to a lower side wall or bottom (4) serving as a hinge for the bag (1) and are closable against each other with the aid of a lightning fastener means (10). A partition wall (12) extends between both bag halves (2, 3) from the bottom (4) and, when the bag (1) is in its fully open position with the halves (2, 3) situated in a common plane, this wall forms an angle of substantially 90o to the plane, there thus being achieved a complete overview and simultaneously easy accessibility of the contents of the bag, some of the contents being placed in both bag halves and some being fixed against both side surfaces of the partition wall.
Description
C-r-mhination baα
The present invention relates to a combination bag for medical care personnel. service personnel and those in similar occupations, the bag having two halves which can be opened and closed against each other using a lower side wall or bottom of the bag as a hinge, each half having a side wall portion which has a height, or extension from the respective front or rear side of the bag substantially corresponding to half the width of the bottom/ and where the halves can be closed against each other with a lightning fastener device at the free edges of the side wall portions.
The bags of the above-mentioned kind which are on the market today may be constructed for carrying on the back, around the waist or in the hand, but all these bags have the disadvantage that it is very difficult, particularly in emergency situations, to find the objects which are in the bag. In some cases this is because the bags which are used may be too deep, or must be opened in a way such that their contents cannot be exposed sufficiently.
The present invention has the object of providing a combination bag of the kind mentioned above, in which the above-mentioned disadvantages have been eliminated. Essentially distinguishing for the invention is that there is a partition wall extending from the bottom between both bag halves, the wall having a width and height which preferably substantially corresponds to the width and height of the front or rear side of the respective half, this intermediate wall forming an angle of substantially 90° to the plane common to the fully opened-out positions of the two bag halves, a clomplete overview and .easy accessibility of the
contents of the bag thus being achieved, the contents being placed in both halves as well as being fixed against both sides of the partition wall.
The invention is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing, on which
Fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a combination bag in accordance with the present invention, when it is in its fully open position, Fig. 2 is a side view of the bag in Fig. 1 in a closed state and with straps intended for carrying the bag on the back of a person, and Fig. 3 is a view of the bag from the front in a closed condition, when it is intended for carrying as a shoulder bag.
As will be seen from fig. 1-3, the bag in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention includes two halves 2 and 3, which are hingeably connected to each other via a lower side wall or bottom 4 serving as a hinge. Each half 2, 3 has a side wall portion 5, 6 with a height or extension from the front 7 or back 8 of the bag 1 substantially corresponding to half the width of the bottom 4. Both 2 and 3 are closable against each other with the aid of a lightning fastener device including two lightning fasteners 9 and 10, each of which starts from the outer edge 11 of the bottom 4, and extends along the free edges of the side portions 5, 6 to terminate suitably at the middle of the upper side of the bag 1, which is opposite the bottom 4. The lightning fastener means can naturally also be formed as a single lightning fastener. A partition wall 12 extends from the bottom 4, between both bag halves 2 and 3, this wall having a width and height substantially corresponding to those of the halves, and it can be
fixed hingeably to the bottom 4. When the bag 1 is fully open and both halves 2 and 3 are in a common plane, the partition wall 12 is kept in an upright position or at an angle of 90° to the plane with the aid of a strap or cord means 13, which is fastened to the upper portion 14 of the partition wall and to the upper portions of the halves 2 and 3. The cord means 13 is in a tensioned state when the bag 1 is fully open. When the bag 1 is moved in its open state, the means 13 keeps the halves 2 and 3 in their fully opened-out positions, which is very practical from the handling aspect, e.g. in moving an already opened bag a short distance. The upper portion 14 of the partition wall 12 is accordingly provided with a hand grip 15. For positioning the contents of the bag 1 the respective half 2, 3 and the side surfaces of the partition wall 12 can be provided with' a plurality of compartments 16 or fixing straps 17.
For carrying the bag when it is closed, the upper and lower portions of at least one bag half are provided with hook means 19 for attaching carrying straps 18 provided with attaching means suitable for the hook means 19, these straps 18 then being able to hook on to the bag 1 in such a way that it can be carried as a rucksack or a shoulder bag.
To enable the bag 1 to be carried in its closed condition by hand, the upper portions of the respective halves 2, 3 are provided with a carrying handle 20 in the form of a loop.
Claims
1. A combination bag for medical care personnel, service personnel and those in similar occupations, where the bag halves (2, 3), can be opened and closed against each other using a lower side wall or bottom (4) of the bag (1) as a hinge, each half having side wall portions (5, 6) which has a height or extension from the respective front or rear side (7; 8) of the bag substantially corresponding to half the width of the bottom (4), and where the halves (2, 3) can be closed against each other with a lightning fastener means (10), said bag (1) having a partition wall (12) between both halves (2, 3), this partition wall (12) being hingeably attached to the bottom (4) of the bag (1) and having a width and height substantially corresponding to the width and height of the respective front or rear -side (7; 8) of the halves (2, 3), characterized in that the upper portion of the partition wall (12) is connected to the upper portion of the respective bag half with the aid of a strap or cord means (13) , which assume a tensioned state such as to fix the position of the partition wall (12) at substantially a right angle to a plane associated with said bag halves (2,3), said plane being'a single common plane to both bag halves in their fully open position, there thus being achieved, a complete overview and easy accessibility of the contents of the bag, some being placed in both halves of the bag and some being fixed to both side surfaces of the partition wall, it being possible easily to move the bag in its fully open state.
2. A bag as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the respective bag half (2, 3) and the respective side surfaces of the partition wall (12) include a plurality of compartments (16) or retaining straps (17) for retaining articles in position in the bag (1).
3. The bag as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the upper portion of the respective bag half (2, 3) has a carrying handle (20) in the form of a loop for carrying the bag (1) in the hand.
4. The bag as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the upper portion (14) of the partition wall (12) includes a hand grip (15) for carrying the bag in its open state.
5. The bag as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the upper and lower portions of at least one bag half include hook means (19) for attaching carrying straps (18) provided with fastening means suitable for the hook means (19), these straps being intended for carrying the bag in a closed condition on the back of or hanging from the shoulder of a person.
