Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for identifying dialing or dialing terminal devices according to the preamble of claim 1 and it also relates to an apparatus for performing the method.
- terminal devices which can operate as transmitters and receivers or only as transmitters or receivers.
- the terminal device operating as a transmitter selects a terminal device operating as a receiver via a transmission bus, so that a flow of information can sometimes flow back and forth one-way or bidirectionally between the transmitter and receiver.
- the terminal device, the terminal device operating first as a transmitter is referred to as the dialing terminal device and the terminal device initially operating as the receiver is referred to as the selected terminal device.
- Such dialing and dialing terminal devices can be, for example, telephones, fax machines or Btx devices.
- a disadvantage of the known devices above is that the selected terminal device can only be identified on the basis of the multi-digit assignment number or selection number before the connection between the dialing and selected terminal device is established consists in that an error is introduced within the multi-digit dialing number and the connection is established via the transmission bus to a selected terminal device which should not be addressed at all. If the operator does not notice this error and believes that he is connected to the correct desired selected terminal device, information is passed on to uninvolved third parties. If, for example, the terminal devices are fax machines, the dialing terminal device and thus the operator receives no feedback that the connection to the desired selected terminal device was actually established when the connection was established via the external transmission bus. If the dialing number of the dialed fax machine was changed as a result of an operating error, information may then arrive at a fax subscriber dialed in a bottle that would only be intended for the fax subscriber actually desired.
- the present invention it is advantageously possible to identify dialing or dialing terminal devices at certain times before an information signal flow is output on a transmission bus.
- a subscriber of a dialing terminal device receives feedback about which selected terminal device was actually used to establish a connection via the external transmission bus. The output of confidential information can thus be better monitored.
- an interrogation signal arriving via the external transmission bus optionally triggers an output of the identification signal stored in the dialing terminal device.
- the police will this advantageously provides the ability to quickly determine the location of a public telephone booth that is being misused for an anonymous call.
- the query of the identification signal can completely elude the knowledge of the anonymous caller.
- determining the location of a dialing telephone is not limited to the local network.
- the present invention for example, provides the fire brigade with an important aid for determining an accident or fire location, since the calling person is often so excited that the location of the telephone booth from which the call is made cannot be reproduced exactly or it can doesn't know exactly.
- the called subscriber is not disturbed because, for example, by ringing the telephone lines from the called telephone to an additional device, the ringing signal or call sign is suppressed.
- the identification signal is then transmitted to the caller via the additional device.
- This identification signal contains, for example, the name of the called party and the subscriber line number as information.
- the caller thus finds out whether he has dialed the correct number and whether he is connected to the correct desired subscriber. For example, if there was a dialing error and the subscriber is connected to an unwanted subscriber, he can interrupt the connection again without disturbing the incorrectly dialed subscriber, since the external call signal has been suppressed in an advantageous manner.
- a coupling device then couples the telephone lines from the additional device back to the phone so that the subscriber can then make calls.
- the calling subscriber maintains the telephone connection because he still wants to speak to the dialed subscriber, an internally generated call signal is sent to the called telephone from a point in time when the identification signal is sent out after a certain pause.
- the called subscriber receives the information that he is desired to speak.
- the internally generated call signal can be generated by means of a generator which is accommodated, for example, in the additional device or the coupling device, or can be advantageously called up from the memory.
- a generator which is accommodated, for example, in the additional device or the coupling device, or can be advantageously called up from the memory.
- the additional device or the coupling device or can be advantageously called up from the memory.
- the first memory area contains the number - that is, subscriber line-related data - and the second memory area contains the name, so personal data. If a subscriber with a different name subsequently takes over the subscriber line with the same number, only the second memory area has to be changed, which is why costs are saved.
- a barrier circuit can advantageously be provided in the selected terminal device. If the selected terminal device is, for example, a telephone, the barrier device causes the internal call signal not to be transmitted to the telephone even after the pause in maintaining the connection. The internal call signal is only sent out if the barrier device determines a barrier overcoming signal in the information signal flow arriving via the external transmission bus. For example, will not overcome barriers determination signal and maintain the telephone connection, then for example the information "the subscriber wishes not to be disturbed at the moment" can be output. If the called subscriber has previously communicated the coded barrier-overcoming signal to preferred persons, it can be after receiving the information "the subscriber wishes not to be disturbed at the moment "to send out the barrier crossing signal.
- the barrier-overcoming signal can be a specific pulse sequence of tones that are generated with a small device that holds the preferred calling person to the mouthpiece of his listener.
- a piezoceramic oscillator By means of a piezoceramic oscillator, such additional devices for transmitting the barrier-overcoming signal can be constructed with little power consumption and in a handy manner.
- FIG. 1 shows a block diagram of a dialing or selected terminal device to be identified

- FIG. 5 is a timing diagram for explaining the operation of the selected terminal device shown in FIG. 4.
- FIG. 1 shows a block diagram of a dialing or dialing terminal device 1 to be identified.
- the dialing or selected terminal device 1 can be connected to other terminal devices, not shown. That the dialing or selected terminal device 1 can be connected to any other terminal device via the transmission bus 2 is possible via the selection device 6 shown as a switch symbol.
- the external transmission bus 2 is led to a coupling device 4.
- the coupling device 4 is connected via an internal transmission bus 3a to an additional device 5 and via a further internal transmission bus 3b to the dialing or dialing terminal device 1 to be identified.
- signals can flow via a third internal transmission bus 3c between the terminal device 1 and the additional device 5.
- the terminal device is a dialing or selected terminal device 1.
- the terminal device 1 is a dialing ter Terminal 1 acts.
- the numerous impulses and signals that flow on the transmission buses are through the sign indicated.
- the arrows attached above the symbols illustrate the direction of the information signal flow, this selected representation also being used in the explanation of the following exemplary embodiments.
- the selection code of this terminal device, not shown, to be dialed is routed via the internal transmission bus 36 and the coupling device 4 to the selection device 6.
- the transmission path of the information signal flow is redirected from the terminal device 1 via the internal transmission bus 3b and the coupling device 4 to the transmission bus 2 through the coupling device 4 for a predetermined period of time ⁇ t to the additional device 5 .
- an information signal flow IF is therefore possible, starting from the additional device via the internal transmission bus 3a to the coupling device 4 on the external transmission bus 2.
- the additional device 5 then outputs an identification signal ID which, via the internal transmission bus 3a, the coupling device 4 and the external transmission bus 2, reaches the selected terminal device (not shown).
- the coupling device 4 After the identification signal ID has been output, which is read out, for example, from a memory 11, the coupling device 4 automatically couples the path of the information signal flow back to the dialing terminal device 1. Necessary control signals between the terminal device 1, the coupling device 4 and the additional device 5 have not been dealt with in order to simplify the illustration.
- an information signal flow ID flow between the dialing terminal device 1 and the selected terminal device, not shown.
- an external control signal ES can also effect this feedback process. It is also possible that an interrogation signal AF sent by the selected terminal device (not shown) causes the identification signal ID to be output. Whether the user of the dialing terminal device 1 is informed of the output of the identification signal ID via the internal transmission bus 3c via an internal call signal IR depends on the particular application of the terminal device 1 described so far.
- the terminal device 1 to be identified is a selected terminal device
- the establishment and establishment of the connection was initiated by a dialing terminal device 1, not shown.
- the coupling device 4 redirects the transmission path for a predetermined time period ⁇ t via the internal transmission bus 3a to the additional device 5.
- the transmission path to the selected terminal device 1 is thus interrupted.
- an external call signal is suppressed, which signals the selected terminal device 1 that a connection to a dialing terminal device has been established.
- the additional device 5 After redirecting or coupling the transmission path, the additional device 5 sends out the identification signal ID, which is read out, for example, from the memory 11 and which identifies the terminal device 1.
- the dialing terminal device (not shown) thus receives information - in the form of the identification signal ID - by means of which the dialing subscriber can recognize the terminal device 1 to which the external transmission bus 2 was actually manufactured. After sending out the
- the coupling device 4 couples the transmission path back over the internal transmission bus 3b to the selected terminal device 1 after a predetermined coupling time t k to the selected terminal device 1. If the subscriber of the dialing terminal device intends to continue to contact the selected terminal device 1 after the evaluation of the identification signal ID, an internally generated call signal IR is led from the additional device via the internal transmission bus 3c to the selected terminal device 1 after a predetermined pause time t p . Interrupts of the participants of an elaboratelenden terminal device within the predetermined pause duration t p, the connection of the external transmission bus 2 to the selected terminal device 1, no internally generated ringing signal IR is supplied to the selected terminal device 1, is not disturbed so that the participants of the selected terminal device.
- a barrier device 7 can be provided, which can be used particularly in the second described example of the selected terminal device 1 - to ensure that despite maintaining the connection via the external transmission bus 2, even after Expiry of the predetermined pause duration t p no internally generated call signal IR is passed from the additional device 5 to the selected terminal device 1. Rather, additional information can be output to the subscriber of the dialing terminal device 1 by sending the identification signal ID or subsequently after the predetermined pause duration t p . For example, the subscriber of the dialing terminal device can be informed that the subscriber of the selected terminal device 1 does not want to be disturbed.
- the subscriber of the selected terminal device 1 can have communicated certain signals to the subscribers of the dialing terminal devices, these specific signals nevertheless being able to overcome the barrier device and the internally generated call signal Trigger IR.
- the subscriber of the selected terminal device 1 thus has the advantageous possibility of being able to make a selection with whom he wants to contact the terminal devices and with whom he does not.
- the device 4 has been referred to as a coupling device 5, it can be a device that contains analog or digital signals switches, redirects as an electronic switch, or inductively couples in taking the information flow direction into account.
- a simple coupling device 4 would be, for example, a switch or a port control module for digital signals.
- Fig. 2 shows a telephone 8, e.g. a public telephone operating according to the method and with the device according to the present invention.
- This exemplary embodiment is preferably a dialing terminal device of the type first described above.
- the coupling device 4 would correspond to a loop closure evaluation device 9 via which the telephone 8 is connected to the telecommunication lines 13.
- the loop closure device 9 is connected to an identification signal output device 10, which in turn is connected to a memory 11.
- FIG. 3 associated with FIG. 2, shows a pulse diagram for explaining the mode of operation of the dialing terminal device shown in FIG. 2.
- an anonymous caller dials a specific telephone number, the connection of which is equipped with a recording device for the identification signal ID
- the loop closure device 9 recognizes the looped through telecommunication line structure 13.
- the loop closure at the time t o is indicated by the pulse train 3A. If the called subscriber lifts the handset after receipt of the call signal generated in the telecommunications office and thus actuates the hook switch, the telecommunications office simultaneously sends the counting pulse shown in FIG. 3B to the loop closing device 9.
- the counting pulse acts as an external control pulse ES which, at time t 1, couples the internal transmission bus 3a to the identification signal output device 10 and at time t p outputs the identification signal ID from the memory 11 via the loop closing device 9 to the selected subscriber causes.
- the pulse train 3C describes the time period t 1 to t 4 during which the identification signal output device 10 is coupled to the telecommunication lines 13 via the internal transmission bus 3a and the loop closing device 9. 3 that the output of the identification signal ID corresponding to the pulse train 3D is completed at time t 3 .
- the coupling period t k (t 4 - t 3 )
- the telecommunication lines 13 are fed back from the identification signal output device 10 to the telephone 8.
- the communication between the dialing telephone 8 and the dialed telephone can then take place.
- a signal can be transmitted to the caller after the pause duration t p (t 5 - t 3 ), as indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 3, that an identification signal ID has been transmitted.
- the identification signal ID is output so quickly that communication is not impeded.
- the identification signal ID can also be interrogated by the interrogation signal AF, which is supplied via the telecommunication lines 13.
- the interrogation signal AF By means of the interrogation signal AF, it is thus possible to interrogate the dialing terminal device 1 only when required.
- the idle state can be in which the telecommunication lines 13 are coupled to the identification signal output device. The information signal flow is thus coupled to the telephone 8 only during the conversation time.
- FIG. 4 shows an exemplary embodiment of a selected terminal device, for example in the form of a telephone 8.
- the dialing terminal device 1 is not shown.
- the telephone 8 is connected to the telephone lines 13 via a loop closure and call evaluation device 16. Furthermore, a signal generator 15, which is controlled by the loop closure and call evaluation device 16, is connected to the telephone 8. As in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the loop closure and call evaluation device is connected to an identification signal output device 10 and the identification signal output device 10 receives the identification signal from the memory 11, which is preferably divided into two memory areas 17 and 18.
- the memory areas 17 and 18 can be exchanged separately from one another and programmed with closed information units, ie complete information can be output from the memory area 17 and likewise from the memory area 18.
- the telephone number of the telephone 8 is stored in the memory area 17 and in the memory area 18 the name of the telephone subscriber. Is further the loop closure and call evaluation device is connected to a simulation device 14.
- the loop closure and call evaluation device 16 determines the loop closure and call evaluation device 16, the incoming incoming calls via the telecommunication lines 13, the loop closure and call evaluation device 16 prevents these external call signals ER from reaching the telephone 8. Furthermore, when the external call signals ER are received, the loop closing and call evaluation device 16 controls the simulation device 14, which is then coupled to the telecommunication lines 13.
- the simulation device 14 has the same connection properties as the telephone 8, which is why, when the simulation device 14 is coupled, the telephone connection to the dialing telephone (not shown) is switched through and subsequently maintained. As shown in FIG.
- the identification signal output device 10 transmits the identification signal at time t 2 and the calling subscriber hears, for example, the following announcement: "Dear caller, you have dialed the following telephone number 061 96/61 00 3. The name of the subscriber is Mr. X, If you want to continue speaking to Mr. X, please do not hang up. " The caller thus receives feedback as to whether he is actually connected to the desired subscriber. If the caller wishes to continue speaking to the called subscriber, after the coupling time t k the identification signal output device 10 uncoupled and the telephone 8 coupled (curve 5D).
- an internal call signal IR is generated by the signal generator 15 at the time t 5 after the predetermined pause duration t p and sent to the telephone 8.
- the internal call signal IR is now transmitted until the caller hangs up, for example, because nobody picks up what is determined by the loop closure and call value device 16, or until the called subscriber picks up the telephone handset.
- Lifting the telephone handset determines the loop closure and call evaluation device 16, whereupon at time t 6 the simulation of the telephone 8 is canceled by the simulation device 14 and the loop 8 is continued by the called telephone 8.
- the coupling of the simulation of the telephone 8 by the simulation device 14 to the called telephone 8 is done in such a way that the loop closure is not interrupted.
- the signal generator 15 receives a control signal from the loop closure and call evaluation device 16 and ends the transmission of the internal call signal IR.
- the loop closure and call evaluation device 16 determines the loop closure with the difference that the loop closure is dialed by the previously described one Telephone 8 and not by the previously described, not shown calling telephone.
- the loop closure and call evaluation device 16 therefore has, in addition to the numerous control functions, the task of differentiating whether the telephone 8 provided with the devices 7, 10, 11, 14 and 15 or any other telephone, not shown, which causes the call to be set up.
- the caller recognizes after the output of the identification signal ID at the time t 3 that he has dialed the wrong number, he interrupts the established telephone connection within the pause period t p , which the loop closure and call evaluation device 16 determines or what an external control signal transmitted by the telephone exchange Loop closure and call evaluation device is communicated.
- the hanging up within the pause duration t p (t 5 -t 3 ) with the curves 5B, 5C and 5D is indicated by dashed pulse trains.
- the owner of such a telephone 8 is no longer disturbed by false calls. It is also possible that changes are easily made when transferring the same number to another subscriber by storing the identification signal ID in the storage space areas 17 and 18 and by dividing the identification signal ID into fixed data (telephone number) and individual data (name) can be. So it is with also possible, for example, after handing over the phone to another subscriber, briefly inform the caller of this with the identification signal ID, without the new subscriber being disturbed each time and having to say that the old subscriber can no longer be found here or lives.
- the automatic output of the identification signal was always described under FIG. 4, use cases are also conceivable in which the identification signal ID is called up by an interrogation signal AF arriving via the telecommunication lines 13. This is of particular interest if two subscribers have telephones, as described in FIG. 4, since the called subscriber can ask here who is actually calling him.
- the identification signal from the caller can be output via a loudspeaker, for example. The called subscriber thus has the option of deciding whether to start a conversation with the caller.
- the loop closure and call signal evaluation device 16 has a barrier device 7.
- the barrier device 7 can optionally be activated or not activated by the subscriber and the subscriber thereby has the possibility of making a selection with which callers he wants to connect and which do not.
- the barrier device 7 thus causes the signal generator 15 to transmit no internally generated call signal IR to the telephone 8 even after the pause duration t p has elapsed.
- the identification signal ID the caller can be informed that the subscriber of the telephone 8 does not want to be disturbed at the moment. This can be a preferred one Callers who have been given a specific code by the subscriber of the telephone 8 send out this code or barrier crossing signal BÜ.
- the caller can generate the barrier-overcoming signal BÜ, for example, using a small device which emits acoustic coded signals which reach the barrier-overcoming circuit 7 via the mouthpiece of the caller's telephone. If the barrier device 7 can evaluate a plurality of codes or barrier crossing signals BÜ, the owner of the telephone 8 can again make a selection from among the preferred persons via a keyboard (not shown).
- the dialing terminal device 1 described in FIG. 2 has a barrier device 7 or that the identification signal ID is not sent at the beginning but at the end of the information signal flow IF.
- the exemplary embodiments of the dialing and selected terminal devices described in FIGS. 2 and 4 are also applicable to other terminal devices, such as e.g. Fax machines, screen phones and screen transmitters / receivers are transferable.
