Abstract

Apparatus for determining the concentration of a given substance in a gas, by passage of a predetermined volume of said gas into a receptacle containing a material having a colored reaction with the substance. Said apparatus comprises a chamber (6) which is deformable by a given volume and which may be connected either with a gas supply conduit (10) or with a conduit opening outside through the receptacle (14) containing the colored reactant (15), a light source (18) arranged facing the colored reactant, a photoelectric sensor (19) also arranged facing the colored reactant, the light source and the sensor being arranged so that the light from the light source may reach the sensor only after it has passed through the colored reactant, an indicator (21) displaying the sensor current, and hence the light quantity which has traversed the reactant (15), and means for passing a given gas volume into the receptacle.
