Abstract

Various forms of TPO are shown to influence the replication, differentiation, or maturation of blood cells, especially megakaryocytes and megakaryocyte progenitor cells. Accordingly, this invention also relates to the use of these proteins alone or in combination with other cytokines to treat immunity or hematopoietic disorders, including for the treatment of thrombocytopenia.
