The design includes appearance features of a generally rectangular pendant having bails at its upper end that can support the pendant from a necklace chain, and having an internal compartment that opens near the lower end to receive an insert, with some embodiments including a jewel mounted at the base of the upper end bails, and with one embodiment including an insert that projects from the lower end opening of the internal compartment.

1. I claim the ornamental design for a jewelry item for protectively enclosing an insert element, as shown and described.
