. UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CARL R. HORNE, OF WILLIAMSBURG, KANSAS.
DESIGN FOR A LATCH-PIECE FOR SNAP-HOOKS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,956, dated July 17, 1900. Application filed June 8, 1900. Serial No.19,630. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CARL R. HORNE, acitizen of the United States, residing at Williamsburg, in the county of Franklin and State of Kansas, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Latch-Pieces for Snap- Hooks, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a top plan view of the latchpiece, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is an edgewise elevation.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of my design consist of an elongated base or bridge A, having parallel sides, convex ends, and a circular perforation a through each end near said convex edges; also, of a tongue portion projecting from the central portion of said bridge-piece at a right angle thereto. Said tongue is rectangular in form at the end where it joins the base A; but at a point about midway of its length it begins to diminish in width and gradually tapers until at its opposite end it is somewhat less than half its original width. As shown in Fig. 2, said tongue B is not disposed in the same plane as the base A, but curves gradually away from it and finally terininates in about-over portion forminga small loop or eye (3.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design fora latch'piece for snap-hooks, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
CARL R. HORNE.
Witnesses:
