UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SADIE W. BAY, OF ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND.
DESIGN FCR A RUM-MEASURE FOR TEA-TABLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,818, dated November 14, 1899,
Application filed October 16, 1899. Scria1 N0. 73 8,881. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, SADIE W. RAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Annapolis, in the State of Maryland, have invented a new and original Design for a Rum-Measure for the Tea-Table, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a rum-measure for the tea-table, and has for its object to provide a design of this kind that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design consists of its cup, which represents a small section of bamboo cut at the joint, with a projecting handle shaped to represent a slip of bamboo. Both the cup and the handle show in relief the joints of the bamboo and its curves, and upon the outer surfaces of each is chased an etching of the stem and leaves of the plant; which are also placed in relief. The bottom of the cup is molded to represent the closed joint of the bamboo.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective showing the interior of the cup or measure and the upper surface of the handle. Fig. 2 is a perspective showing the bottom of the measure and flat under surface of the handle.
What I claim is The design for a ruin-measure for the teatable, as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing design as my own I have hereto aifixed mysignature in the presence of two witnesses.
SADIE W. RAY.
