UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ERVVIN M. JENNINGS AND CHARLES S. MOSMAN, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTI- CUT, ASSIGNORS TO THE JENNINGS BROTHERS MANUFACTURING COM- PANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A CLOCK-CASE.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 34, 160, dated March 5, 1901.
Application filed February 6, 1901. Serial No. 46,271. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that we, ERWIN M. JENNINGS and CHARLES S. MOSMAN, citizens of the United States, and residents of Bridgeport,
in the county of Fair-field and State of Com necticut, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Clock-Cases, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figures 1 and 2 show a front and side elevation, respectively, of a clock-case embodying our novel design.
As shown in the accompanying drawings, the leading or material feature of our design consists in the graceful shape, configuration, and ornamentation of a clock-case, as will now be described in detail.
A represents a central round opening in the 2o clock-case for the face of the clock-movement.
Upon each side and above this opening is a series of shell ornamentations B, and exterior of these ornamentations, at either edge or cornerof the case, is a graceful scroll 0, each having a few leaf effects connected therewith.
mediate of these scrolls and at each side are arranged a series of small leaf ornamentations, and beneath said scrolls are shown a cluster of three smaller scrolls H, the lower one of which extends downward, forming a leg for the clock-case, said small scrolls being filled in with small leaf decorations, as shown. Bordering the lower edge of the face of the case is a shell I, of attractive appearance, and above this is a shield J, with scroll, leaf, and flower decorations around the same.
The sides of the case are alike in treatment and comprise, in addition to those ornamentations above mentioned, scrolls K, L, and M upon the back edge, which agree, substantially, with C, F, and H, before mentioned, as appearing upon the front corners. On the inclined top portion of each side is a latticed panel 0, and beneath said panel is an attractive shield P, surrounded by a series of scroll and shell ornamentations, as shown. The lower portion is provided with a central vertically-depending shield Q, with a shell ornamentation R at the bottom and a series of scrolls and shell ornamentations on either side, as shown.
Having thus described our invention, what We claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a clock-case, as herein shown and described.
Signed at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, this 31st day of January, A. D. 1901.
